Ok, this is not really trance, but I don’t think it would bother somebody here.

Yesterday I was at some friends house, and we were listening to the Chemical Brothers (the good albums, not the last one) and to Prodigy. My god what amazing music these 2 groups used to make, and it was just a few years ago.
I don’t know anybody that likes electronic music that doesn’t like the Chemicals or Prodigy.
And then I understood that for me (and for many others) they are the modern Pink Floyd. Such creativity, such new and interesting sounds – and it all happened only a few years ago.
I bet in 10 / 20 / 30 years from now, people will think they are a legend.

But where are they today? What happened to electronic music? This music they made isn’t really defined in a specific genre. I would say it’s experimental electronic.

Will we have to wait another decade or more till a new group rises?

I switched to PsyTrance at the moment whole the UK electronic movement ceased to interest and focused on breaking the US market. You mentioned Chemical, Prodigy and i can add few good more like Underworld, whom latest material without Darren Emerson just doesn't right, and Fatboy Slim who was totally blinded by the money, Orbital and the list goes on.
But lately there are some nice interesting Electronica artists, to mention a few: Roiksopp, Notwist, Hybrid and blinded by the money but still very talented and challenging BT.

Money screws everything. BTW Keith Flint from Prodigy a 1 Million $ deal with Polydor on releasing Debut album. Robbie Williams, behind you.           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

FSOL, Aphex Twin, Plastikman, Ozric Tentacles, Shpongle... there are so many talented acts that make amazing music today, money or no money. These guys DID make it, and they still retain their musical line from the first day while doing new things each time.

I think Raver Girl the music they make is called Free Style if im not mistaken. Definately a bunch of talented people. The music is intelligent and so are some of thier videos made incredibly.

Last i heard Prodigy has gone back to the Punk Rock scene where they iniatally came from. Hopefully will make a come back and do another album in the electronic dance circuit.

As for Chemical Brother after the album Come With Us must be chillin i guess. They do a lot of Dj Sets around the Uk.

Another good artist in that scene i think is
FAT BOY SLIM!!!!!!!!!!

FSOL~!

Leftfield $%

DJ Sh@dow **

I don't think its fair to compare them with Pink Floyd though. <--- These guys created a whole new genre out of nothing. Maybe if you say Kraftwerk then I could somehow agree but none of these 90's bands, its too early to decide about their place in history.           Both teams played hard

No one ever can even resemble or come closer to the music and genius of their music chemical brothers and even prodigy made some decent music but they didn't invent any thing and they r even not a little bit PSY while Pink Floyd r the masters and kings of PSY music

if you compare them to pink floyd because most of the people like it (which is not for sure......MANY people respect , but not as pink floyd...)then i agree....but about the music , honnestly , they are far from pink floyd....even i would say you can not compare...they use only samples and staf......i would agree more easily if you were speaking about JUNO REAKTOR who , for me , are the new pink floyd generation!
ps : listen to "one of these days" from the meedle album from pink floyd......made in 73 or 74 i don t remember , and it is TRANCE MUSIC!!!!
