btw, handA, you dont have to take drugs to experience Joy and Harmony... if YOU do, then you should really go to a psychologist or psychiatrist...
I see a lot of people enjoying and having fun and being happy and friendly with one another in festivals in a way that I do not see in any other social event where there is too much game-playing and many fights...
(not to mention there is a lot of responsible drug use too, appart from the also present drug-abuse)

or maybe you are just going to the wrong parties, handA?

First of all I got to say that it's amazing how many annoyed answers I get when I dare to speak the truth which is that there's way too much drug abuse going on in our scene and that we should be a bit more aware of NOT to promote it to the world!

Secondly I dont do drugs.. I used to do!

Third I have every right to go to whatever party I like and if I want to point out that somethings rotten at those parties that's also my right just as you have the right to think different! But you got no right to twist my words as you seem so good at sherlock!

And dont come her and tell me that there no people at these parties who could need less drugs and more healthy lifestyles!!! At least it would do them good and I am sure it would also benefit the scene.. But obviously your one of those that think the Authorities are to be balmed for everything... and not us!

For some individuals I don't even think drugs would help them to experience "joy and Harmony".
They prefer looking at things from a negative ascpect and probably would get a very bad experience on drugs as well.           (``·.¸(``·.¸(``·.¸¸.·`´)¸.·`´)¸.·`´)

you didnt get what I say.. didnt you read what I wrote?

me:

you:
"And dont come her and tell me that there no people who could need less drug "

I had just said that INDEED there is drug abuse, but its not the only thing that happens.. Drug abuse is there, and so is responsible drug use...

now what I really disagreed about your opinions here and on another thread, is your hastiness in implying that all these people that talk about ´love and joy´ are drug abusers..
People can enjoy and be peaceful and idealistic and loving and respecting without drugs, or with drugs, doesnt matter... one is not the cause of another...

Respect and understanding, my friend.. Respect people that use drug responsibly and understand (which does not mean agree) people that abuse drugs, instead of judging.. Once you understand, you have the space to talk to them, to maybe give them some tips, to maybe help a little... Now if you come with an agressive attitude, it wont change people that use drugs abusively, and will only create more and more conflicts..

and I also said that drug abusing is not limited to this scene, but its in all places and groups and situations around..

obviously im the one that think the authorities are to blaim? Well, I think they have a certain amount of participation in the situation, thats for sure, but so do the people.. its a dialect relationship.. The Established and the Establisher are both involved...
Each has to do their own part, and I try to do mine, and to change what I dont agree with , to help people and understand instead of judging..

Lots of movies in India have scenes from Goa.
But everything is drug related.
This is the film mentality ..
DRUGS = GOA + MANALI

HIPPIES = LOW-LIFE PEDDLERS.

They even had 9 bar in a scene of a drug deal or something like that.

thank u all for your inputs...
@HanA, please don't make this a topic to discuss if drug use is good or bad for the scene, this is not the place..... same goes for you sherlok.... I know you were just replaing but still.....
I don't want this scene to be in the "eye of the media" but I also don´t want it to be labled as a drug scene so what can one do to change this view..... I don´t knoe if I should open another tread about it... I think this one fits the question at hand...           "open your mind....you might just see that there isn't anything to be seen"

Man... Out here, the media makes it a point to accentuate the negative sides of any particular story. Sensationalism feeds upon individual fears and puts one in a situation that makes the individual more succeptable to whatever is suggested as safe and acceptable.

Here all illegal substances are viewed as being a cancer in our society, yet the legal mind altering substances (i.e. Alcohol and Tobacco) aren't as heavily scrutinized. Why is that? Could it be that these substances provide income for the governing bodies? You have the taxes on tobacco and alcohol, the import duties for those that are acquired from outside the country. You also have those that work in the industries that provide as such... Take your local bar, you have those that work in the bar. They are taxed for their income, the bar owner has to renew his liquor license periodically, as well as being taxed for owning that particular business.
Then you have the miscellaneous organizations that benefit from these legal drugs, think about the manufacturers of things that are not directly meant in conjunction with alcoholic and tobacco products... Non alcoholic beer, anti hangover aids, stop smoking kits... What about those that benefit from the rehabilitation of those who seek to be free of that lifestyle? Here in the US, there is a very strict penalty for Driving under the Influence of alcohol. There is usually jail time that is requested as well as a hefty fine and community service as well as a class that you must take... All told??? It costs close to $2000.00 US to get through that ordeal, and it is still possible that you will lose your driver's license for a year! Where in proportion is the media when you look at how many alcohol and tobacco related deaths happen each year?? Where's the fear there? They blindly look the other way because there is a mutual gain.

I know I am starting to sound like a conspiracy theorist now, but it makes you wonder why all the focus on illegal drugs and the places where the usage is a bit more obvious when there are just as many if not more real issues with substances deemed acceptable by the governing body? CONTROL. The state can have more control over these substances and make a profit on every which way... If you scare sheep away from an area of land continually, then they will end up propogating where you tell them to. I have been suspect of media's tactics and the motivations for a while and it's very interesting to hear them talk out of both sides of their mouths.

Sometimes, what you were taught isn't always correct and it is the struggle of adulthood to determine which of what your were taught should be followed and which should not.
