at times i wonder the intensity with which i feel for this genre of music is extroardinary. its a kind of spiritual bonding that i cannot explain.
are we the chosen few ? is it gonna get any bigger? where are we heading?
i hope you are getting the context in which i mean the entire thing>

Well I gain quite a lot of weight since I quite smoking  so I would love to not to become smaller but at least to come back to my original size,may be I should stop eating all that food and come back to the healthy tar in my lungs.
My fake plants died, because I did not pretend to water them. |

I don't think the psy-trance scene will grow to encompass everyone on the planet. There are many routes to the spiritual life and for some people the trance scene provides one of them. But there are as many routes to God (or whatever) as there are people, and we must never deny others their choice of devotion. Many people don't believe in a God, and that's also a choice we must respect.
We are not 'the chosen few'; trance will not save the planet (more's the pity) and neither does loving trance music guarantee an escape from Samsara. What it can do, through regular and prolonged doses of moving meditation, is to provide a framework for life in which one can choose to act from one's highest intentions and thereby improve your own life and that of those around you. It can be a route to mindfulness - but the mindfulness itself must come from you.

The lovely thing about trance and chillout, the thing that got me into it, is that it is a music genre that is completely different for every individual, and as far as I know it has the most varitey to allow for each perons wants and needs... I see psytrance becoming more popular in the electroninc scnen but most definitely not in the global commercial musc scene... for one thig the tracks are genrally way to long for commercial radio play time and form tlaking tom any people, the general of the street music fan wants singing of some form. So no, psytrance is not for the chosen few, but it is not for the mass population either. I think it has reached a point where if it increases in size any more it will kill itself, but I think the best way for the future would be for like minded labels to come togther to make bigger labels, and that festivals where divere stlyes are played iwll be more populat than small gatherings. I also think that with more money coming into the scene, from what I"ve heard hehe, there is a bit less experimentation in music and I think this is slowly turning around with the likes of Zenon Records, Boshke Betas and Disco Valley style sounds becuae from somebody who has been into the scene for the last 8 years, these types of abels sound much more like the old goa style than the full on stuff. Now I'm not saying full on i bad, but it is rather stagnant... Psytrance will never die, but I doub;t it will every truly leave the underground |

I beleive, know and experienced that trance music is a link to god power...it is medicine made from love and energy which one or more people put into one track and you can feel that energy while in the dancefloor your body does not count anymore and it feels like flying! Now i understand what you mean wicker but i have to say that we are not the chosen ones at all because everybody finds his spiritual path somehow, someday or maybe who looks for it hehehe  But we are very lucky to have found our spiritual path through trance a culture built by spiritual people! We are lucky because it includes having a great great time dancing and also a very hippyish lifestyle which also includes the nature! So all we must do is what other people do that is thank god for everything that he gave you in this life and appreciate every moment to the max!

There is a significant percentage of people listening to Psy Trance because they find the music to suit pretty well their artistic tastes, and not at all for some spiritual reasons.
I am one of them.
I guess I'm out of the Happy Few Crew now...

you have to keep that, its not easy.. some people out there gonna try to destroy that, because they do not believe and dont want to accept other kinds of consciousness. let it melt with your surrounding world without getting yourself isolated...
thats the key i think.
and: i realy think it doesnt has much to do with the music, its yourself and anyone is able to get in touch with it. a lot of people in the trance-scene decide to use easy pills or anything else to feel like getting enlightend for 3 hours. its like a consum holliday-bus-trip to watch a country they would join with pleasure, but the go on the completly wrong way so they close the door by theirselfes and will never join. you just cant consume it.
its often misunderstood.. i have seen more people holding this knowlegde quietly by theirselfes in absolutly different worlds as in the "trippy" psyscene.. |

see guys thats why its a very subjective topic. i say chosen few coz i feel a strong connection with the music or rather a spiritual bonding with the music ( i think ganjagil wd understand) will b able to feel this way. i say "chosen few" coz fr me its no longer music but a way of living .,, i really dunno how many of you feel this way .,,
i guess i was just thinking aloud and voicing my feeling. for many of you it might be just another genre of music that you love but for me its gone a little further.

what i meant by this is :
the real evolution of psy .,, when psy basslines wd be mixed with other genres so that it wd have mass appeal. most of you would probably be against this but this is wht i c fr the future .

a lotta money needs to come into the scene for further growth and that is only possible if the record labels do good business. and for that mass appeal. we would continue to have underground parties and continue to love this genre . all i was asking is do you think its gonna grow bigger or will the dream bubble burst in its self?
mods i agree that the topic i chose to post this thread doesnt make much sense . can you change it to " what does the future hold"
