hey gaspard:
......instead the same same bassline on the 16 note and a kick on 4 is not boring hey ???
there are 12 notes (more if u go on arabic scales) and plenty of combinations but you (trance producers) all stick to the same grid formula...it is now more than 15 years stuck on this....ahahahah...what a joke !
do u really think that an amazing cool vocal sample will make this music less boring ?

in the "chill section", in a thread about terrence mckenna samples in tracks i gave my opinion... what this has to do with trance basslines i dont know. you obvioulsy dont like my opinion so feel like attacking me on a subject you think will offend me as much as you re offended by my ideas of TMcK samples...
and i thought this was the chilled out section...           Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

ciao gaspard...chek it out...now you know that the chillout is not just a fluffy "peace and love" place...few punks hanging out there too.
I am not offended, just annoyed...
you came here saying that our terence samples are boring....well...chek ur basslines before u speak...that's the message....clear enough ?

come one man!! i never assumed the chill section was one of fluffiness, just more laid back.
second, mckenna samples are used by a lot of musicians in different styles, so i for sure wasnt pointing fingers at specifically chilled psy artists. many tracks which contain TMcK samples are in my favourites, which would probably explain why i m over them. thats all. no personal attacks there.
third, the fact that i like "boring" single note basslines doesnt take away my ability to find other things boring.

ha! damn right, maux!

just cuz our music runs at a slower tempo doesn't mean that we're a bunch of push-overs

P.S. Thanks Quasga! i have been trying to identify "drink more tea" from internet radio for a while now

Brand new Terence track from the hottest group in chillout right now, fuckers!

"Being Transformation" by Peaking Goddess Collective

I dare someone to call them "unoriginal"

Unless I'm mistaken, which can often happen, the track Being Transformation has spoken word by the artist Alex Grey.

He's based in NYC and seeded COSM - or the chapel of sacred mirrors. It is a hub of entheo-inspired art, and Pedro has had a monthly residence playing there.

It is no coincedence that he has spoken in a Terrence kind of voice... like some nasally afflicted mushroom entity - and it seems kind of appropriate and ideal to me that instead of there being another sample, we instead have someone very genuine who is carrying this particular cosmic thread forwards in a truly authentic way... great tune

Do buy his art... he has a great print of the Dalai Lama which i got for mrs interchill a few valentines back

but yeah theres some large amounts of extra talking in the PGC album, what have you to say about that eh gaspard - it is nice tho

the beat structure is supposed to be repetitive thats what they call rhythm

show me trance with the kick somewhere other than the 1/4 and i would love to see someone mix that

ooohhhhhh, thats alex? weird...i've actually spoken with him on a couple of occasions but still didn't even consider that that was his voice! in that track he has such a similar intonation and vocabulary as terence that i just assumed it was my old friend!

My roommate and I were actually wondering what Alex did to get his name in the song...we thought he was just painting in the studio while the song was being written, lol
