Wow this thread lost all proportions.
Allow me to summarize what I saw:
1. Thread started out by saying that parties are expensive.
2. People said that the production costs are high, and that they were lower a few years back.
3. 5Meo-Geo saying that the party organizers are all trying to do one thing - which is rather true - the basic organization rules don't change that much between a 150 people party with only Israeli DJs and something with 1000+ people and one or two international acts. The organizers supply the sound system, DJs, lighting, deco, bar, chill out area, and they are more lavish the bigger the party (unless the organizers get really greedy, which happened even to the best of them). The option of making a small party with true distinction to get all the freaks out for a crazy time has gone from this world in order to ballance the chequebooks.
4. Somehow drugs got into the issue, but the point is that more people (both in number and in percentage) do E today than 4 years ago, and that has definately impacted the dancefloor.
5. The rest of the arguement is because some people are happy with what's going on today, and others are not, and others are totally against it, for whatever reasons. Solution to this issue EVERYBODY JUST CHILL OUT. Drink a stiff drink. Smoke a J. Run a bloody marathon. *whew*
BTW: Zombi man, you always give your fair share of opinions, I'd expected you to get less pissed off when someone else does the same for the exact opposite view

I would disagree on the progressive point of view here.... but if talk about music - then I must disagree again when I say that I'm NOT happy with the music that exists in our non-progressive country.
and for you own little 'war' about parties here, alot of what 5meogeo said is perfectly true. He absolutely brought facts here so no arguing there please.
It's just the 1000 points of view we have on one subject all the time.
Zombi, parties today are not making me HAPPY. And I'm talking that parties 5 years ago could make me happy without drugs. And today i'm still trying to enjoy parties without them - no success.
So are you saying I can just go sit at home or try to change things? I hope it's the latter.

planet_zohar: first of all, most parties are full-on music, not prog, and if you'd know how long I've been listening to progressive music (which I didn't even mention in this thread), you'd know I'm frustrated just because I love that music so much.
I said 2 points - that parties today are organized with the same goals only on different scales. As someone who has seen the way parties are organized in a few organizations and has been around to a few parties, I think that's at least a serious estimate of the way things are going around here today. Even the last two Gabi&The Twins party have lost quite a bit of the vibe from the previous years, mainly because their parties stopped being gatherings of 250-750 people with a lot of care into the vibe of the party (which is what they're famous for), and in the last two they moved to the bigger crowds and lost something of the special vibe they had going (even though the parties were still great by any standard)... It's still not Shaffel or USTA, but the difference between the underground and the commercial organizations is NOT a question of how you do things as it used to be, but more about how the product in the end is.
So yeah, today you probably won't find a party with a really crappy sound system like 6 years ago or so, but you also seem to be seeing lineups at parties that seem eerily familiar to the party you went to last week, and get the exact same thing, more or less.

kaz i know most parties today are with full on
this is why it doesnt intesrt me at all.
its a shame that only guys like shaffel still bring 2000 ppl
there is no place for any other artist then the boring 150 bpm names
and about the twins well they also became greedy.
i dont care anymore
at least i can listen to prog at home and smoke my joint in peace.

There are two things to do:
1 - adjust
2 - try to change (which include alot of bitching and whining along the way)
all I did was choosing 2

I said bitching is only along the way, not the main way of doing it. And if everything is the way you wanted so much, why are you still seem so pissed at people who are totally against the fruits of the scene? I hope you are not pissed at me since everything in the scene today, represents non-good feelings in my stomach.
