ok guys, I know its been discussed in some topics but wanted to share some thoughts and see how do u see it. Last couple of years we all have seen many music been produced and many so called subgenres appearing. In the beginning was like ok not bad to have more variety and diversity and we are all one anyway and can fit in this world/scene with our openmindness etc. But nowdays i have the feeling that all this (sub)genres within the scene are more separeting the tribes the family... more and more festivals / parties focus only on 1 particular (sub)genre and their followers are becoming just more fanatic about it, that psychedelicfamily feeliing is not more there or very hard to find. I rememeber some 15 years ago when i started to go to this kind of events it was what i found so beatyfull about the ones go crazy in the night others in the morning others in the chill but all as one... Now if u are at the party that plays 2 different styles u can be happy and if u mention that u like also some other styles u have been considered as hater as enemy... wtf??.... also i feel a lack of sense of humor, everything is getting so serious musicwise also. Have the feeling the essence as that being one and having a good time no mather ur tastes, or age or... is getting lost. so i guess its the evolution we call it.. but not every evolution is positive, anyway just some thoughts i wanted to share...

There are parties with many styles thrown in.
There are also parties that focus on a particular style.
We have options and can choose to go to where we feel like going.
Its not an issue as far as I am concerned and its all good... imo always.

hehe well all is good on my side aswell  but honestly if u look most of the festivals u see basicly 1 style... and in my opinion its just separating the tribes.. i have friends in many countries around and also i am travelling around so its something general.. everyone for his own.. sure choice is yours aswell to stay home)) but seems u dont share the same thoughts no prob there at all..

Well I would not go to a dark psy fest, or a prog fest, or a full on fest...etc... but then again many other people will because it will only play their favorite music.
The are so many styles nowdays thatare so wildly different that they are just not appealing to everyone. And people like to listen and dance to what you like to listen and dance.

and if i like dark psy, and also prog and also goa, and some full on and also good chill out what to do? i have to choose and thats my point... i know there are few where u can find them all but its rare... and i would prefer to go to party festival where i get surprised from any style

indeed as i said before its rare.. so only on big ones as Boom, ozora and thats it more or less...
and take a look on the rest of festival line ups... only 1sided

Well speaking for my self and after 19 years of partying, I know what I like, so I tend to go to parties where only music that I like is going to be played.
Its not a separatist thing, its a having developed a taste over the years and following it, thing.

the more subgenre and artists the harder it is to please the crowd
for me if i hear music i don t like when sun rising from 5/6 to 9 it can t be a good party..earlier or later i dont care as much..but this time is crucial.
better go in parties just to enjoy the vibe and have a good time..if you get music you really enjoy it s bonus these days.. if you wait to get proper line up , location weather ect.. you go in parties once every 2 years and it can be far from home  |

so u want to say i don't know what i like?? i do't have developped taste?? ok if u consider so i am happy for your that yopur are happy with your taste, well done!
seriously it seems u don't get my point. i am also enjoying the music i like and follwing the thing... but i see nowdays Hi-tec festival, Forest-festival, Prog-festival, Zenonesuqe festival... and speaking about it in general i notice specially younger crowd are pretty fanatic into the substyles and to me saying that one is better and more psychedelic then other sounds like speratists, capiche???

Well the substyles are developing very much and after all those years of partying i realy go rare to a party and doing what Martial said...but the think is that i dont follow specialy one substyle but for sure not going to full on and that kind of stuff non serius music. |

Yes, I was speaking for my self when I said that its not a separatist thing and having developed a certain (and albeit very narrow) taste/view of what constitutes, psychedelic trance music....that is why I started my post with "speaking for my self", i.e. not you or anyone else, so that I would not be misunderstood... but as clear as I was, for some reason that escapes me, you didn't get it.
I have no idea why you lashed out like that.
I do not think that the people that like prog AND dark (for example), means that they don't have taste. They have a different taste than me.
You have to understand that a lot of people that started listening and partying in the mid 90s, where subject to a much more uniform sound of what people called back then, goa/psy-trance.
So you went to a party and you knew that you would go on a massive journey listening and dancing to sounds that where closely related and get into a certain vibe for the duration of the party, regardless of the DJ.
Now days, with the variety of styles, its totally the opposite and its impossible for some people that want to get into a certain vibe for days, to fall into trance.
So they choose parties that will have the vibe they are into, from start to finish.

I used to love Dark Psy. Today, I can't stand it!!
Therefore, you could never expect me to get at night time in party.
And if I attend a bit festival with lots of Dark Psy artists I would probably go to sleep whenever the Dark Psy started.
Taste...
