I also use it for producing.

No new finished tracks yet, but some will come soon Sometimes, I still produce on the laptop elsewhere, because room + monitors are so revealing that you could easily loose focus and become psychotic about every wrong details !

so you need some self discipline "no i will not touch an EQ today"

edit : fiberglass is Isover IBR Kraft. It is 5000 rays perpendicular, 2500 rays in the way of the fibers.

Nice studio! Aren't them tweeters too high for the listening position though?

No, it's part of PMC recommandations : Tweeter has a good dispersion and is made to be listened off-axis.

When you are close : you are really off-axis and tweeter is balanced, and the farer you get, the less off-axis you are (reinforcing tweeter level in theory) but high gets more absorbed by distance, so it is still balanced : they guarantee that way a constant HF response all around the room.

Listening position height is between mid driver and woofer, the three drivers are time aligned that way.

edit : It can bother some people to not be at tweeter axis. I find it very usefull in terms of translation to Big PA, as mid/high speakers are always high / Hanged from top of the stage.

edit 2 : recommandations for the big BB5, same alignement is needed for MB1/MB2

tweeters are ears level is often recomended but it s not always best,in some monitors manual i have seen between tweeters and woofer is recomended for example, but it s probably design dependent.

yes, exactly, depends on the design.

Also personnal preference can play also. Listening off-axis (vertically) from the tweeter can need some adaptation.

If you don't like it, take speakers which are time aligned on tweeter axis. Monitors are really personal           http://www.storm-mastering.com

Fantastic looking room xoC, congratulations, bet it's fun to work in there! Would love to hear it!

Did you do all the acoustic stuff yourself, or get an acoustician in? I might be moving the studio out of my home, and into a dedicated space later this year, so if you have any tips on a good acoustician in the EU, that would be great.

Did all myself, including the design, after reading everything I could about acoustics in the last 3 years ... 1 Month full time of building, all DIY, and 2500 € of material costs.

I also did get some help from my family, and from a great friend who is a carpenter, to build the wood structure. I borrowed him his good but extremely expensive wood tools, which did help a lot ! So if you have not access to good tools, you can add at least 1000€ to buy them, or I don't know how much to rent them.

I've chosen to make a design greatly inspired by the recent work of MyRoom Acoustics.

If you have some money for the build, you could also see Northward Acoustics who have been making stunning rooms in the last few years, if you want a High End room !

I prefered the DIY way because i'm renting the house, and all the internal structure is screwed on my floating floor, I did not touch to one wall or the ceiling

I didn't wanted to invest some really serious money (with loan ...) in a place I could leave in 3-4 years. And I'm also kind of adventurous and love to learn new stuff, and found the build extremely interesting !

Thanks for all the info! So cool to be able to do it all yourself.

Yeah, I know Northward Acoustics, there was a great podcast interview with them on SquareCad last year, I'll probably drop them a line if and when I move, as they are ATC specialists too.

Yeah, no point getting a loan, I've never done that and don't recommend it to anybody! Better to work within your means and then all profit is yours.

Good luck with it all man!           http://hermetechmastering.com : http://www.discogs.com/artist/Gregg+Janman : http://soundcloud.com/babaluma
