I've used Mac for the last 6 years, my entire apartment & wireless network is Mac only as my wife also uses Mac only for work too. It would cost a lot of money, and we wi have wasted a lot to switch to PC. Never going to happen. I used PC for like my entire life until 6 years ago & can't beleive it. I cannot strand PC for a second.

Thanks for all the info so far. I already have the computer, abletone & Novation Impulse. I also got a bunch of D16 plugins cheap from a mate's store.
No point on getting the monitors or worrying a out acoustics treatment as the house is under construction for 7 more months.
In the meantime I think it's not unreasonable to get a Motu audio interface, and work with what I have now to at least get my head around it all.
Once I move into the house I'll spend around $300-500 on acoustic treatment & I should be close to having enough for some speakers around the price of Adam A7X ($1599 Australian is the going price).
I'll also look into getting maybe Omnisphere as well, and expand on hardware synths after all this such would be probably around mid-2014.

The price won't change that much. And I've got to wait. It will be at least August/September before I can afford them!

motu are supposed to be really good ,would pick this too or maybe a echo audiofire if cash have to be saved for something else.
also would look into fx what i find really jaw dropping lately are my moogerfoogers, better to have just one synth and few good fx than 2 or 3 synth imo, you cna still use plugins like ace diva massive ect.. |

Had a chat with my current boss at the studio. He said while the make of MOTU is good, they fall apart quite easily I always just after the warranty runs out lol.
He said I should get http://global.focusrite.com/firewire-audio-interfaces/liquid-saffire-56 this baby & when I start making proper cash from my home studio upgrade to something high end.
He also said for the size of the room I could happily get the Adam A5X & treat the room well acoustically.

motu not far from the metric halo (that have really high end convertion) and that motu is their small portable interface..
some of the motu interface are supposed to be close or on par with some pro audio converters from ad /da loop measurments. |
