No no no Juno. Not if the artist is quoting a movie ect. I'm talking about.. mmmm.. You know "Infected Mushroom - The Shen" righ? Listen at 05:05 minutes. That is the voice of Duvdev. (I can not confirm that or bet my ass on it, but I belive it's him).
I'm talking about those kinda "samples".
Duvdev has made many "sound effects/talking/noises/whatever". And they are all great, like the "AAAaaaaahhhrhhh" in "Small Moves".
But his singin' on "Cities of the psypop".. he really sucks.

Vocals in psytrance totally suck, with only a few exceptions... Son Kite did it nicely with Let Us Be, for example...

Well yeah i understand what you mean now.. Yeah for me i don't like direct singing... I like half singing half speaking.. kinda mental stuff,.. hard to explain.. but the stuff i do myself i like - of course hehe

Basilisk - Yeah see i think everyone has atleast 1 track with a vocal they like.. So artists shouldten ruin it by making crappy shit with girls that can't sing!!! And now astrix started to sing aswell.. i can not imagen that is any good..

I agree.
Apart from some Vocals just being terrible, im against the "wave", i think too many tracks are now moving towards "songs", Vocals are being used excessively...I think they should be used a lot less and picked with care.
I dig the vocals that make you think all of a sudden...and ur like "woh" and then "heheheh" not stuff like " gimme tha Taxi Numbah!"

In that case I wonder what you guys (anti-vocals) have to say about Skazi Vs Fishi - Hit & Run.....
The whole track is just based on the vocals (singing)..
I dont think that psy should be totaly non-vocals, since it depends on the track..
Take Shift - Megatron for example, the vocals there are just adding.. Or Azax Syndrom - Nightmare, it rocks!
Im talking about vocals though, not singing vocals..
But when a whole track is based on the vocal, instead the vocal would be based on the track, its never good...

I agree with you totally....
Vocals are not bad in a track......but in psy..it should just like putting cherry on an ice-cream...
Now a days there are more vocals than pure music...
A couple of sentences here & there in a track is all fine...
What do you guys think of Void....True Love...

well we talk about duvdev and astrix that they should stop singing , but the crowd that they want is not us its everybody so they make music for the masses, and vocals is good for that. |
