What the fuck is going on with the wave of vocal all of a sudden?
For me i think it is nice with vocal in trance, BUT, when artist start to work with a "singer" as Dali, it's ver the edge. And don't misread what i am saying, i am not saying anything about her work and a musician, cos she cool with trance, but the girl can not sing!
For god sake be original, and don't get a girl to sing on a track that can't sing, just cos you are desperate to be like everybody else!
Be picky about who you chose for vocals.
BE ORIGINAL

I have to agree... I've been hearing more and more tracks with vocals in them, and I'm not very happy with them. Vocals in my opinion tend to cheapen tracks (unless they're good ones, but lets be honest) and are used in electronic music (not just psy) too much as a filler, to make up what a track lacks... Together with the increasing number of cover-tracks these days, vocals disturb me the most. Psy is just best off without them.

I like lot of tracks with vocals. But u are right some sound not that good, so another good lead had fit better in some tracks. Anyway it is a matter of taste

EYB - Yeah exactly... I make vocals for trance aswell.. But it is very limited and i don't go make crappy lyrics, with no system in it..
Everything now is just random. Random lyrics, random singer.
I do like vocals aswell.. But fuck it piss me off that people are so desperate too make what everyone else is making.
People should think again.. Think about Tikal, Fractal Glider, Rastaliens (the new work from them), Space Tribe and so on. They have their own sound and that is why they are well liked.
If you wanna be big, stop this horrible wave. If you wanna make vocal's, do something original. Don't sing about, i love you, you love me, lets have sex lalala.. Noone want's to hear that.
The true hits is original. New lyrics, new way of singing!
But for all you small artists, if you want to keep people laughing at you, keep on doing what you are doing!

I agree vocals sound out of place in most psy.... but there are a few morning melodic master pieces that i like- which have vocals... I See Myself by Fly Agaric is deff in the topp of that list

ps- question...... Protoculture - melody machine..... there's no vocal per say (as in no words) so what would you call the 'heeeeyyy' going on in the background? surely forms part of the melody.

I remember the same discussion concerning the first Haldolium album by the way, but I think (and hope) it's just a craze. Two particular albums where I found the vocals horrible where from X-Dream and Infected Mushroom.
Still, there are good vocal-tracks out there. The Sub6-guys did a great job incorporating vocals into their tracks (with "On The Ground" as an exception though), and the new Haldolium and Emou albums where pretty good too. DJ pr0fane (Iboga Records) | Multiphase

In psytrance... Singin' is 98% of the cases bad or cheezy or just plein stupid. What I do like thou is good Voice samples from movies, documentaries, made by the artist him/her self ect ect.
Infected used to have some of the best voice samples imo, many made by Duvdev him self. Now he only sings..

The vocals that sub 6 used are OK. But, when u have Duvdev singing, and i also heard that Astrix will sing with Michele Adamson together, now thats a litlle bit too much.
OK, Skazi now started to use vocals a LOT, he remixed Out of Space track from Prodigy, but he used Fishy as a singer and the lyrics are from a track that has been here forever. But Psysex and Michele Adamson - Your place or Mine????? COME ON!!!! Now that's simply said, HORRIBLE |
