This one is kinda to find out what people are doing against this phenomenon that is rapidly growing here in Europe. The last days hundreds of people have been robbed, by organized crime. It ´s not a matter of a few people with loose hands no more, it ´s now that far that organized crime is being attracted to these festivals....since they seem to find out that it ´s easy to steal of a bunch of freaks all with their heads up in the sky from dancing, being tired of other well-known reasons. Hundreds of people have been robbed in the festival, including me and many others. Passports, mobile phones, money, expensive clothes, carradio ´s, sunglasses, any sort of electronic gear and even the most rediculous things such as stilts from one of the participating artists got stolen. From staff-area to camping...it didn ´t matter where anymore...anything just not being watched 24/7 was gone within a blink. Me myself got robbed while I was sleeping with a friend....while our stuff was hidden well in the back of the tent under layers of clothes and other stuff...but it didn ´t help. I ´m curious if this phenomenon is showing up elsewhere as well and what people do or think you can do about it. In this case I don ´t mean hearing that everybody should watch their stuff or lock it away...we all know and try that, but not every situation, specially not in the life of a freelance traveller, allows that...so I ´m kinda curious to what people think an organisation such as Boom might possibly be able to do about it. Wishes, ideas....all is welcome here, since for me personally this is the 2nd time I had a lot of stuff stolen in the last 3 years and I ´m really fuckin ´fed up with it......this has got to stop if we don ´t wanna have all our magic fun turn into a complete disaster....and from watching those hundreds of faces at Boom in the moment we left....this has been a disaster to way to many without at doubt !!!           Mind Funk Records

Do what i do,dont carry valuable items with you and rent a hotel room near the festival area where you can keep all your things and have a shower and sleep comfortable.           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

Hotels are the worst place to keep valuable things!
There are more chances your things will be stole in hotels then in a fes.
Carry your valuable thing on u always, and look after them.

I think it is a very common, nevertheless sad pheomenon on any kind of big festival. You can't really do much about it I guess. Bring as little as possible; but I understand it is difficult, when you are kind of living on festivals during the summer. I don't know if you can rent lockers like you can chemical toilets; maybe that would be some kind of solution. They would have to be watched of course, otherwise it just makes things easier for the thieves.

Flake my friend Hotels usually have lockers in their rooms and they always have a safe in the reception

P.S I have slept in countless hotels all around the world and Greece and never had any problem with my valuables.           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

HOTELS DETOX !!!?
surely this isnt part of a festival psychedelic experience???!

I think flake is right man - look after you're stuff and take only the essentials... but then it is a question of preference i suppose...

anyhow - if someone decides to rob something of yours, become the 'angel of karmic retribution' and exact revenge accordingly...
you'll feel much better believe me.

there is a solution people...for our underwater overground festival we took one space that was in the entire complex where we did the festival and we put all the valubale stuff in it and we put a lock on the door and 2 security guards near it...of course this was just for the staff but if we expected a lot more people we would have made it for everyone...

All it takes is a couple of crew people in the space...the festival people can come there, give their valubale stuff and the crew people write down what they got from each person on a piece of paper next to the a number and they give out a small coupon with this number to the person...so basicly it's like a wardrobe in a club except it's used for valubale stuff...

Of course this still leaves out money but that's not really a big issue since you can carry it with you...the biggest problem can also be the fact that not every festival location has such a space, we were lucky to get a space that was in an abandoned hotel complex so we had lots of rooms for everything, we only had to buy new locks for them.

Hope this idea helps           DJ Dovla | Interchill Records, Flow Records

The Boom actually had facilities and lockers available in the info stand to keep passports and valuable items safe.

Anyone knows a nylon tent is not the safest place to keep valuable things....no?

Epsilon i didnt knew that sleeping in the nature is psychedelic and sleeping in a hotel is not LOL

Sorry but i cannot sleep in the nature and i prefer a nice room with comfortable bed and shower than sleeping in a camping next to the festival area and with music banging my ears 24 hours a day.

So i can rest when i want in the hotel and have ultimate fun in the festival when i also want           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

Just be careful...and if ur a traveller like me..i'll stick with a decent hotels Locker. Dont really like to Lug my valuables around.Cash and stuff is alright,,but passports and shit just not worth it people.
Seems like thers no easy solution to this problem.
Maybe we can have Psychedelic security. Dudes with guns which shoot psychedlic colors blindin thieves and reducin them to a state of abnormal xtc.

well it all depends how it's managed...if you have security guards in and around the space as well as the people who work there then it's not much of a problem...someone would always have to be there and know exactly who is allowed in and who is not, of course the bracelets pretty much solve that problem...

All in all I think this is the best possible solution you can offer on the festival location itself...other than that the only option is a hotel room or maybe your car if you're arriving with one...this is also one thing to be considered...you can leave your valubales in the car and the organization can put up security guards to watch over the parking space so no one breaks into the car...now the only thing you need to watch over are your car keys           DJ Dovla | Interchill Records, Flow Records

Hehe, even though I always have a hard time sleeping at festivals, I must admit it’s part of the charm: waking up, and walking straight for the dance floor – the same deal at night, walking straight to your camp, where you crash in the tent – instead of waiting for a cab. And then there's always the aspect about the neighbours - I've met some really nice, friendly and sweet people this way

Another thing is the economical aspect. I don’t consider myself poor, but I do save a lot of money each year to afford attending some festivals, and I find it pretty expensive to pay for a hotelroom x days (and probably also transportation to the hotel), in addition to the usual costs of the festival ticket, transportation, food, alcohol etc.          DJ pr0fane (Iboga Records) | Multiphase

When we have festivals here, we lock everything in our boot of the car or in my mothers combi. All my personal things (money, stuffs, etc.) I keep on me personally in my saddle bags that I never remove, except of course to change and shower. The festival organisers have lockers though with your own key that someone keeps their eye out on. Its a seperate stall at the festival. And you pay a small amount to have the locker and someone to watch it for you.

HOTELS?? You won't find any near the festivals here, we have them as far from anything as possible! More into nature!

And sleep just isn't really on my agenda, maybe a few hours in the afternoon is all. I don't ever wanna miss the music!!!           :: Life can be as bitter as dragon tears
