I was too busy with playing the host at the beginning but I did go to hear Beckers set, and Ze German got a killer sound + super groovy 80's / Electro / House all 4 on the floor and he is a King.
The vibes were excellent and great open minded ppl were enjoying an exhibition of sound quality in 130 bpm.
One thing I have to add and check this out :
Eli and me made this party knowing that it surely a candy for ppl that really like elctronic music, and proggy heads all over Israel. Frank visited the holy land for the first time, and a lot of enthusiasm was in the air. We both didn't plan to get rich from it, tho - since to cover the expenses we needed to fill 3/4 of the capacity of the pretty small club we were hiring. That is why we were very strict in the FREE ENTRANCE part, knowing that if we let too much ppl in for free we will pay dearly, and to be perfectly blunt with every one here, I don't have extra money to donate to the scene ( I already did and still do by the fact that ppl almost dont buy CD's anymore... )
To our great surprise, the club was less than half full, and that is after extensive promotion in major sites and magazines all over, and even the party was chosen as the 'best' event for the weekend by 'Layla' site.
My conclusion to this phenomena is dual:
First of all there are ppl like Prosect ( ND ) and Igal M, that are artists on their own, that can come from Dimona / Kyriat Gat to Tel Aviv and pay full ticket to give tribute to great foreign artist first time in Israel, and enjoy a RARE and quality night so different to all that happens here usually.
And there are other ppl that will every single day claim that they are progressive fans and it's the best sound ever. They would swear that nothing beats the pure psy prog sound, and that Beckers is the best thing that happened to the Trance world since Tsuyoshi claimed that Trance is dead. But when they find out THEY NEED TO PAY AT THE DOOR, they get a suddenly get sick, or just oversleep but surprisingly enough pop on the next day to a club that gives them the freebee.
So my question:
Should ppl like me care and make more events of this kind ?

Best launch party i can wish, too bad as usual quality not realy importent to local party goers, but as usual i dont give a fuck and enjoy make my own fun with my close friends and few ppl that care, care not to support or invest but to have time of their life with music of real musician.
Beckers is the person i will book even with 50 000 euro budget, he is the one ! Those who been there can sure confirm that.
Thanx to all that came, I enjoyed celebrate this special for me night with you.

Well Yuli i know i tried to nudge for a freebie the last time but it was before i saw the place and knew it was so small & how much of a great time i would have 
this time i had absolutly no doubts it would be a real blast and had not even thought about asking you or elli for anything cuz i knew for sure that this will be worth evry shekel.Although i didn't drive a long distance but i know that if i had to i would have and belive me that if the price was even bigger i honestly would have paid even more. Now i see how naive i was by worrying so much about being there real early and thinking well this time it will be a sardin can (but a nice warm friendly can).
Anyway i also know for sure that zombi didn't plan to get rich from this one and he took a risk on this one , even when i asked him later that night what's his status he said "fuck it i'm not gonna worry bout this now Beckers here!!!" an we both went YEAAH 
so this whole thing puts up a real big question mark i guess even a bigger one for you guys who orgenaized this mind blowing feet killing stormy night...and i can't stop thinking the could be outcome of this, that simply next tme something so great would just not happen due the tiny support that this party had!
for the party itself i had the greatest time , big thumbs up for evryone! the guys upstairs although a bit lacking dj skils imo had really good music and i would really love to here some names that these guys were spining there cuz the music was sweet!
thumbs up for zombi you warmed me good with your set for SF...and big thumbs up and toes up for beckers he is a fucking super groovy 80's / Electro / House KING!
sorry Yuli didn't stay up for your set but i see from the reviews it was in no way any less good.

well the party rocked indeed, it was in the air, this posotive vibe all over.
it's really sad, and i thought about that when saw a small amount of people, how they will cover it?
i did my way on the last moment, when i already thought i can't make it to there, yes, i travelled by bus, 3 hours in each way, spent same money for it as for entrance (and not to coubt the drinks) so its twice expensive for me, but it worse it, the club, the people and the artists. Eli, Frank and Yuli did a great job there.
you should keep on making those celebrations, for me, for you and for the true underground psy crew!

yuli mate u r tottaly right and i think that the very sad answer is, NO, if u made such a briliant lineup and the place was half empty than the answer is no, i belive u were much happier when u made the first party even lot's of people got in for free, but i gues u didnt lose and that party was a blast as i remember, u&eli gave your heart and invested allot in that party but no reasults in field, i read what ott wrote and i agree with every word he said, we have a very big amount of proggy artists eventhought most of us already heard them all more than once, for a club on thursday night it will do and it did, i belive u'll make more parties in the future no matter what cuz it comes from the heart and not from the pocket, but for the future i belive one artist from outland or none will be just fine for every proggy head or trance goer in israel
and good luck with the next one:)

yuli, i know this FREE ENTRENCE problem from a personel point of view, becouse in my parties ppl, even nice ppl i like, all the time ask me to give them free entrence.. sadenlly they all your best friends..
sadenlly they all verry nice to u.. when they need u..
in the end of the party.. when u all brocken out, and offully tierd u find out thet all this nice ppl, make u lose a lot of moeny..
and even if u don't DO THIS PARTY TO MAKE MOENY.. IT REALLY NOT FUN TO LOSE SO MUCH AFTER I WORKED ON THIS SO HAERD.. 4 OVER A MOUNTH.. NOW U ALL KNOW HOW IT FILLS..
and it's no MASHA'ARA prod.. no tsunami.. no 1000 ppl.. and 120 shakel 4 ticket.. becouse u don't wont it to be uglly.. and comerchial..
so in order not to lose everybody need to pay atlist smull price.. a little respect for our work!!
so in one sentence.. let me say.. ppl if u
have a minimal respect for us.. party prod' or artist.. don't use us.. for the 50-70 NIS
u can give us the filling u aprechiet us and pay like they all do.

First of all massive two thumbs up for Zombi and Yuli and probably the best party in town, excellent choice of location and the music was totally excellent throughout! I missed quite a bit of Zombies set but got in time to a few grooving trax of the set with trax from his new album.
Space SAfari continued the party on a nice comfi BPM with the best sounds i heard in a long while - the dude has unbelivable good music. I danced my ass off and luckily enough i didn't leave when my friends left and stayed to hear one of the best underground sets i heard this year..
This excellent evening out finished with Yuli BLT playing a great psy progressive set, i had a really good time. Looking forward to more from Zombie.. |
