Mastering involves alot more than only pug ins.
a sound engineer knows the right spacing for each frequency in tracks.

I believe Masterings are very important if one cares about having a homogenous sound from beginning to end of the cd.

I really liked the mastering that was done for Fear Psychosis, save 1 track...
I also love anything that Tim Schuldt has his hands on for mastering work. I think he is just primo... Really anxious to hear what will come of the Mushy Mystery comp on Trishula (ok, sorta shameless plug)

But another engineer that is starting to really come up is Lawrence Hoffman (Chromatone). His production quality alone is spot on, and having listened to him master a collaboration track between me and Random, he is one of the best. Check out the Mechanik Castle compilation and the up coming Twilight Twisters comp on Mind Funk. He can indeed work miracles.           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

yooo ppl i don`t have enough english vocabulary to discuss here about the art of mastering (and iam not the right guy to talk about this art).
I advice you ppl that really want to know something about PROFESSIONAL MASTERING to read some books and documents in internet about this.
I advice ppl to read things from BOB KATZ (one of the biggest personalitys in professional audio industry, and a very good mastering engineer).

I can say that you really gonna see the things more clear then now...ahh other thing, lot of ppl want to learn about this, and for me this is very good, but before of this you really need to know (study) some things in audio industry that are needed to can understand other more advanced things......everythings in life is this. . .for example a kid can`t shoot a ball very well, without know the correct position of the body for that action. First he need to know how to positionating his own body and then he can shoot the ball perfectly!
Its the same in Mastering...lol. . .first you need to know lot and lot of basic things in audio industry to then can talk about mastering. . .
now i`ve to go. . .
see you then. . .

I don't think I need to learn about sound engineering and Mastering. With 25 years of making music from small studios to multi-million studios I know my way around it

Again if a track is properly mixed andthe artist know his way around prober engineeering then you dont need a big complicated Mastering job. And I am not talking about some compilation with 10 tracks from 10 different artists and studios. I am talking about my albums where I make sure that all is in balance and mixed good . Then it's not leaving much left to master except minor issues.
