Are you joking ???

So, If I write some code (what I am actually doing), that will be used by other people for some illegal actions, I am responsible ?

I must say that you have a very very weird look on the justice...           -=Lead System Designer=-

First of all a guy who build weapons is already corrupted by black intentions if U ask me...

Then I didn't attack the programmer, and didn't speak about what was in his mind BEFORE programming soulseek, but NOW, TODAY, several months after its sudden huge success (thanx to the death of audiogalaxy)... I was just wondering.. is that offending, U think, Cyber Punk ?

Don't think so..

And I don't care what he was thinking when one day he decided to set up a peer-to-peer software.. I want to hear him speaking now !

The guy might be quite insane, because after a several week soulseek shut down, due to a singer who had tried to take him to Court... He just moved his servers to another country where the law was more flexible...

What is to be thought about this ?
simple question..

cheers           .

Have you ever considered that a guy who build weapon, made it beacause he wanted to protect someone ?

I don't know, and actually don't care.

I am having arguments with EP about legal responsibility of the software developer.
What you are writing here is example of using the software.

I am not having any arguments here... The topic is too damn boring anyway for wasting to much time on it.... Look into legal matters and the law before you clame that's it's legal to write a code that enable people to share music illegal. It wont stick in a court of law!

Well I can assume that you dont buy music just as much as you can assume that i think that filesharing tools are the worse software ever build.... where did i ever say that? I use hotline to transfer files to clients.... it's quite brilliant!

EP:

You are absolutly WRONG !!!

it is perfectly legal "to write a code that enable people to share music".

It is illegal to share music without the permission of the music's owner.

Got the difference ?           -=Lead System Designer=-

and where did I say that you think so? I was speaking in general as I always see someone saying how filesharing programs are the main problem on this scene...

and as for my cd collection...it's a bit over 50 original cds           DJ Dovla | Interchill Records, Flow Records

well if you speak in general you must also have meant me since I think that people that use filesharing software to steal our music are big pricks.....

You cant speak in general and then tell me that you did not mean me too. So who were you speaking to then?

Well according to US law I properly would be :-(

But I do see your point.... BUT I am sure I would try to make every effort not to confuse people with my "hidden" messages....

The fact remain that the prick that wrote the code and indeed also host the service DO know what's going on with his software but yet he still let people download his software and use it.... That's why I strongly suspect that he's known from the start that it could be used for illegal activities.... I have no symphathy for him if he get a 1000 law suits... He is damn quilty.

Oh, thank you very much, I didn't even consider to have my way without your permission.

If guy will lost in court, he will lost for "providing the service" to share music illegali, BUT not for "writing the code". It is just very big differnce, this is all what I am trying to say.           -=Lead System Designer=-
