did you ever ask yourself from where will we get the electricity to make a party lost somewhere far from civilization once the earths oil reserves will be exausted or when the fuel costs will be highr than paying live act's and dj's?

sounds like apocalipse to me...... brrr:sour:

solar power. wind power.

people are already running lights off solar power out in the deserts. soon enough we'll have batteries strong enough and panels efficient enough for large sound.

wind power is even easier.

http://www.biodiesel.org/

I do take this topic pretty seriously. Biodiesel cannot be used in the current motors, but I'm sure that several earthloving engineers can go about rigging a biodiesel engine to power a generator.

Also if you happen to google biodiesel, you should come up with some interesting links...           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

Wind is not a solution since in forest there is no wind because of the trees, moreover there are not much places where you can find enough wind to build wind station. Solar power plants require big space, so noone will take them to parties.
Batteries and tape as 20 years ago? I don;t think so.
As i've read, (i'm mechanics eng.) There are alternative sources for "fuel" which invented many years ago just can't find their place in the market. Even water can be used according to russian book released back in 60'. I think politicians and high tech engineers are aware of that problem and working on something new, just some countries won't welcome new, alternative source of "fuel". Usa, Russia and arabs keep the market pretty tough, so we will know about new "oil" replacement as soon as large oil importers/exporters will finnaly reach the limit of possible. Just think what can cause new resource of power which will totally iliminate oil structure! Global war!
Won't be war over oil as pentagon mention and make US goverment to inport oil to country when they have maybe the largest oil gathering within US, as won't be parties without electricity.
Think of pre historic human, they lived without any power sources but with time they found them. We are much more advanced than pre historic fellows(i want to believe so), then probably we have nothing to worry about in here.
I just hope new power source will be closer to nature and we will close to nature with it.

At the end of the day we can always use our "oved-MDMAed" lads to gain power from their wild dancing.

Some generators that will be powered by alcohol or corn oil. I think i've heard from someone that scientists could actually develop automobiles that would run on some kind of alcohol or natural oil.

Solar energy could be accumulated days before a party that would actually last for a whole party, but just like wind proppelers that form of energy supply is expensive and not enough utilized by people.
'ts sad.

solar and wind is expensive because it's not used so much and the equipment is still expensive. a significant chunk of my town's power supply comes from wind turbines.

but yes, biodiesel is a good solution. ordinary diesel engine was invented to run on peanut oil, so not many alterations are required. We had a party recently in New Mexico where we ran a mid-size sound system (15kW or so) from a bio-diesel genny. no problems, and it smells like french fries, not gas fumes.
