yes, we are super psyched to party with the boston crew again!

as an aside, i've always liked the idea of daytime/all day parties and i think it would be nice to see more events like this

it is at the same american legion post where they have hosted the psyforia events for many years.

it is a fairly large outdoor open space right next to the charles river, really a very lovely location. they have had many outdoor parties here during the warmer months; this is their first all day event.

there are some pix on their website at:

not sure if camping is allowed, my hunch would be no. it's worth noting however the event does not run all night into the next morning, so not sure what you'd need a tent for exactly.

I posted this to my site... I'm curious--the early ending time has something to do with local laws? I think Lauryn was telling me something about the sad situation with nightlife in Boston... but the question that arises in my mind (because we have successfully done this in Toronto) is what about illicit/underground warehouse break-ins and the like?

Thanks!

yeah the laws in Boston are draconian even by American standards. Normally the psyforia events go until 2am, but this one has to end an hour earlier since it starts before sundown. Yes i know, it's a serious clusterfuck.

There have been a few attempts at more underground all night events in the area, but most have been hampered by the authorities AFIAK.

back in the mid 90's, the underground, warehouse-break in scene was hoppin!! But, due to many unfortunate incidents, deaths, overdoses, vehicle break-ins, stabbings, massive quantities of drugs being found by underground police at the events, basically started the city government on their crusade to shut down all nightlife in the city that wasn't attached to Lansdowne Street's club scene.

Thus the reason I up-rooted and moved to the more liberal California side back in 1997.           We are all family. We put the fun in disfunctional.

Ehhh it's why I left Boston as well, although I'm not sure New York is much better..
....And now it looks as if Lansdowne Street is getting torn down as well.

PS Someone bring this guy back to boston to play...mmmm monks of madness...           ~gOa ist nicht nur musik sondern auch eine lebenseinstellung~
