"Electronic games do not affect the children.
If Pac Man for example would affect our generation, we would have been in a dark room, jumping up and down, left and right, eating small magic pills and listening to a looped music".
(Kristian Wilson, Nintendo Inc, 1989.)

A few years later, rave parties were born, techno music and the xtcs...

I think it actually went like this:

"Computer games don't affect kids; I mean if Pac-Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music."

It would be nice if people posted quotes in their original form..           "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program."

You're forgetting one thing: most psytrance isn't repetitive. I always attack people who say things like that. They obviously don't know what they're listening to.

And about games or other media affecting people I've got this to say (actually this is a quote from the fantastic comic Johnny The Homicidal Maniac): "Any pile of stunted growth that's unaware that entertainment is just that and nothing more deserves to doom themselves to some dank cell somewhere for having been so stupid! Movies, books, T.V., music - they're all just entertainment, not guidebooks for damning yourself!!"           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. As death extinguishes us, so we become it."

You are the one that's actually missinig the point. If it's not repetitive you can't call TRANCE in the first place.

Anyway I think that most of us round here were much more affected by "Digger"...
