Hi,

I came from South Africa to attend your Solaris festival and enjoyed it tremendously. I have attended Trance Parties (Tribal Rave in Brazil) all over the world and was impressed. I came for the 4 days and stayed for 6 days. The music on the main floor stopped after 5.5 days. A VALIANT effort indeed. I have created a mini web site with some pix I took. My new friends found are shown here. They include Halvanella, Louisa (who is creating the video of the Solaris Party) and Barak. An informal shot of Yahe is also included. Also some interesting tattoos are listed.

1. Road Directions. Pity no-one took the effort to translate the directions into English. I fortunately asked some Portuguese people who live in the same apartment block to translate it , otherwise I would have been screwed!

2. The Cosma Tribute was awesome. I felt the mourning energy from a distance and just knew what it was about.
VERY WELL DONE! Knocked my socks off!!

3. Not much Tribal music. Isratrance is lightly tribal, but you should listen to the work of Jorge Carlos (Album Name = Trip of Africa") if you want to know what tribal is about. If anyone is interested I will share it via "Soulseek".

4. No Gaia! I have included on the bottom of the web page below some pix of Gaia from the Solaris Eclipse we had in South Africa on the 3rd of December 2002. Gaia = Earth Mother (or Holy Ghost) and should have a presence all all gaterings. See notes on Web page about her.

5. REPEATS. At our parties the DJ collaborate and we never have repeats more than every 12 hours, normally 24 hours between repeats. DJ have playlists and have to nominate songs they wish to play. IT IS EXTREMELY ANNOYING to hear the same song just after a DJ switch over that you have just heard in the previous set.

6. Live cutovers. We very seldom stop the music. The DJs have to practice and nominate their last song such that when they play it ensure a smooth cutover.

7. Facilities. In all this was very good. BUT the lack of Toilet paper was abominable. It should AT LEAST been for sale somewhere on the site.

8. Age grouping. The parties I go to the average age is over 30. Here we had (on the main dance floor at least, an average age of 24, I would say). The chill area had the older souls.

9. Food. Very good, especially for vegetarians, like me.

10. Deco. It was OK. Could have done much more, but was was there was good. The views made up for the limited deco.

11. Music favorites. Yahe, Infected Shroom, BLT, Psysex, Bamboo Forest and Psycraft.

12. The Gathering of the tribe. Tribal rave is all about energy and connections. The energy was good on the dance floor except for the stress created by coke heads and city slickers (dark energy). I personally made wonderful connections and felt part of the "Tribe" and felt the Zionist influence strongly.

13. "Refrigerantes". Tried this crap. Similar to "poppers", they are getting off on the propellant that is put into the bottle to make it spray. A KILLER for the Immune system, if only they knew that!

14. Water Mist was my idea. We use in extensively in Africa.

15. Barefoot dancing. I agrre with Joti, barefoot dancing is the only way. Not tiring on the feet. I walked barefoot from day 3 and never had any problems.

16. Shiva Moon. The appearance of the Shiva Moon on the first night was a blessing on the gathering and I saw it as that. Good one, Joti.

17, Sunrise sets. These are normally the most important sets for me, and I managed to attend 4 of the 5 sunrises on the main floor and was never disappointed. These are the times when I had some amazing charasmatic experiences. Like a Tai-Chi yoga exercises with Shimas and a circle of love and light on the fourth morning when Thomas and I formed a counter-clockwise rotating circle of some 20 people. STUNNING!!!!!!!!!

18. Fire. There should be a fire burning in the chill area throughout the party. It is a home for the heart. (Earth, Wind, Water and Fire, if you get my drift.) We had all the elements, except a public fire.

19. Can anyone help me with a contact for Shimas and Louisa?

20. In my ipion far better than the "Carnaval" and that very dated Samba and Axe Music!

21. The "Hermetic closed" mafia you refer to happens all over the world. It is linked to personal ego.

22. The people are a little uptight. Not many people swam in the nude or exposed their breasts (women I mean).

23. See the Pix at:-

Thanx
