Good question, I want to know about that also...

Plus....

1- what type of food will be avaliable, how much?

2- If there really wont be any kind of lockers, "guarda volumes", why? Cuz i cant put a lock on my tent...

I agree Camoman. English directions would be very helpful.

Can someone also tell the me the best way, and cheapest as well to get from Sao Paulo airport to the party. Considering I will have big backpack (that I would like to leave somewhere) and no idea of Sao Paulo at all.

Also, is the party location on the way to Rio (or Ilha Grande more specifically) as I am hoping to head there afterwards.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

The party was supposed to be on the way to Rio/Ilha Grande... but, I don´t know why, it changed to Sao Paulo´s countryside... a lil bit way too far from Ilha Grande... but I guess the line up is worth of going           vor2hi@hotmail.com

This was a private msg but I think it may help other people...

Ok, to start with:

- From the airport to the party: I figured it out the cheapest way to go from Sao Paulo to the party (I am comming from Brasilia) and it is by getting a bus from Sao Paulo main bus station (which you would either have to get a cab or the trains to get there - not too expensive).

I am doing this: bus from Sao Paulo to Amparo (city near the party)

The bus leaves from: Terminal Rodoviário Tietê

Bus company: Viação Rápido Serrano (11) 6221-3906 / 3047

Departure times: everyday at 06h45 / 08h54 / 10h00 / 11h00 / 13h00 / 15h15 / 17h15 e 19h30*

Price: Conventional R$ 18,84
Executive R$ 29,79

Ok, this is the first part, then (the roots part)...

- From Amparo to the party (+- 20KM): I will hitchike to the party, by the way I will also carry a big bag. I figured it is very easy to get a ride and it costs nothing! If it really does not happen then there are the options of taxi or WALKING (yeah!)

(There is also Thelles Bus - this guy is doing transportation from Sao Paulo direct to the party -- 50 reais both ways. He leaves SP at the 28th at 10:00pm and returns on the 5th at 8:00pm --thellestrancebus@hotmail.com)

We are at the party...

Then,
- From the party to Rio: I will go to Rio by bus... there is a group that leaves from the party to rio and they charge 65 reais, very reasonable price. They leave on the 5th.
Info: www.viajeparasolaris.kit.net
Maiaro - tel. (0xx21) 9854-0888
Fábio: - tel. (0xx21) 9215-7739
Marcelo: - tel. (0xx21) 9293-7312

We are at Rio...

From here you can get another bus in the same bus station to anywhere you want (Ilha Grande). (not expensive)

That is about it... now, I dont know where you can safely keep your big backpack, you can definately store it in Sao Paulo's airport. Since the party will not have lockers or any safe place I will just face the risk and leave it inside my tent.

Hope this helps... any other questions, I became an expert on this trip, be welcome! (:

All I am asking is for someone to translate from Portuguese to English the road directions on the Brochures.

I have rented a car and will travel from SP, and I have the Map.

Are there any GOOD translators out there??

Later on, I´m going to try and post some usefull info in English, concerning the party´s wherabouts, how to get there from several locations. Car rental is always an option, but do keep in mind that finding your way in Brazil´s roads, specially around the countryside isn´t that easy. And driving around in São Paulo, for those of you who have never been here and don´t speak Portuguese, may literally become a "bad trip".
