So would you listen to Lady Gaga over it?

BTW you seemed quite supportive of it 9 years ago?

Psykovsky rocks he hasn't any albums out yet but he has some rocking tunes in several compilations as RedZebra2 wtote.
Also check out Headless Horseman (Parasense + Psykovsky).
Enjoy

I prefer dark psy over lady gaga but it's more like I prefer testicular cancer over pancreas cancer.
And yea in 2002 there was good dark psy. Psykovsky, Parasense, some Swedish producers.. But it went to shit very fast

Can definitely understand that then. The sound back then was quite different but other than Psykovsky's album I never really got into it.

The dark psy I first enjoyed were the early Psychotic Micro style, like on the Acid Mutant compilation and similar.

I still enjoy the way a lot of "dark" psy has gone but I thinks it's because of where I came from originally musically in the industrial, experimental heavy metal & grindcore sounds that attract me to the style.

Outside of dark psy the only EDM I listen to is more the John Digweed/Sasha/Hernan style of progressive, Ninja Tunes & Warp Records.

Nothing in the cutesy psy prog or full on or neo goa grabs me at all.           I hate you, you hate me, we are all so hap hap happy!

"Complextro" seems to be the next big thing (or maybe it'll crash and burn in a few months.)

I wanna jump on that bandwagon and milk the $$$           www.facebook.com/chemogen

im with pavel here...

gotta say tho, "full on" which i became so sick of 4 years ago seems to have died, and now we get tracks that actually stay true to the name full on - fully energetic, twisted and electrifying music coming out mostly of the UK - where nano is pretty much the bearer of the torch.

aside of that, oldschoolers producing again, the whole retro thing that went and is still going on made me start partying harder, so many parties here with goa trance played all thru the party, i really think that some of them got back to producing THAT style of music that they did 15 years ago because of the reaction they get from the crowd - speaking of my own experience, in two big parties with oldschool written all over them, along with some performances in ozora 2011, i saw how dinosaurs like nick taylor, ray castle, etnica (who still do perform alot, but play mostly their newer stuff, only seldom do they play their old materical - usually when its only maurizio), koxbox, x-dream (both), james monro (playing a whole set off ancient vinyls, both in ozora 2011 and 2 weeks ago in a flying rhino label party in israel), dino psaras, joti sidhu, slinky wizard, darshan, dick trevor with the green nuns act and mwnn (who i saw many times in the past 3 years, always something special) - these are just to name the most memorable of the experiences i had in the past few months, which seemed to draw so much energy from the feedback they got from the crowd, to me it seemed as if they forgot what its like having people dig their asses off to their GOOD music, and getting such feedbacks throws them back to the studio (wishful thinking here ).

i love whats going on now, i think the stagnation that was infecting this scene for the past few years is over... or at least hope so maybe i'll even get back to listening to new stuff

I would only change the Nano name to the Master Blasters one. The Life Changing Experiences album alone is what carries the torch of driving and psychedelic music, imo always.

+1. For me the next big thing is getting back into the vibe of the good old school (not goa) trance tracks.
James Monro is the definition of a proper psy-trance DJ (even tho he mostly plays tech-house parties pushing his 4D sound). The man does not care about how old a track is. He plays all the good ones which is why dancefloors react the way they do...the older crowd stomps the ground like they did over a decade ago and the young crowd (where a lot of them have no clue about the music that was before Astrix) gets blasted wondering what the hell this music is and where they can find it.

So for me the next big thing is the music that stayed timeless throughout the years. I doubt the veterans will get back into producing such music again, either because they've made for ages and simply want to make something different, either because it is a risk for them...who knows... but I am happy that at least the people that spun such great music in the past, are doing it again these days. It makes going to parties (seldom, but better than having no party to go to) again, worthwhile.

Peace out.

well then i guess i'll have to start listening to your stuff again i liked the first album's direction, but thought some tracks repeated themselves, the 2nd one if i recall correctly was not too much to my taste - but to the point, i'd love to listen to trance that was produced in the vibe of the old school, where the emphasis was on the track/journey itself, and not the (production/mastering) quality of the track... hell i still listen to masaray tunes that mastering wise are absolute shite, but the story/drive... aint nothing like it...

this track will get me anytime, anywhere
