This film appeals to all westerners..Music rocks..A.R. Rahman has done better music in movies like Roja, Dil Se etc.

Apart from the above, this movie is a very average bollywood movie . and it is very boring and predictable.

I really enjoyed the first part when they were kids. Maybe coz they speakin in hindi it had more of an impact. Didnt find it too groundbreaking either.

Wish the original was in hindi!           -.-. .... --- --- ... . / .-.. --- ...- .

Very good work I think, dramatic for many reality shown with good cinematic perspetives ideas etc even great sounds .Lots of hardcore..dont understand me wrong. Will see this film again someday and wont forget Ive seen.I'm not a fan of bollywood or hollywood either.just good films happen sometimes - most are not that exciting to me to be honest.           https://soundcloud.com/shivagarden

^^ it's not bout ' i don't like bollywood' statement bro it's jus that after the fantastic 1st half to movie jus looses it's flavor IMHO & finishes like most shahrukh khan movies.           the problem with valuing art is, till u dont understand it, it's worthless but wen u do understand it, it's priceless!!

His best soundtrack work for me is Taal. Excellent soundtrack.
When I was still DJing trance, everytime I played a tribal night set I used to open it with Beat of Passion. The effect it had on an outdoor party in the middle of the night was amazing.

As for the movie, haven't seen it yet. I'm reading the book now, though.           ---------------------------------------------

i think that way - Satya is a good movie too .. apart from the running around the trees music, the entire movie was spine-chilling..
guess this movie i wud watch just once..
perhaps the westerners wud love it sure.
Acting of the kids and newcomers was quite natural ..nice..
some scenes were a BIT too much i guess..

exactly bro after the interval it seemed more of an Shahrukh khan movie then nething else.

but the first half is terrific!
& Rehman jus keeps u glued with his magic
like 'Ringa Ringa' is like ne sleezy bollywood no. but after watching the movie it seems so apt & u start enjoying it

agree with you both- the first half (young jamal) was fantastic and a bit dark, the second was quite disappointing. But all in all, it was an excellent movie, and boyle is a great director.

Also the M.I.A track was right on the spot, and altogether was wonderful!

8/10

Have you listened to other songs from Bombay, Dil Se and Roja..there are not trance or psychedelic ..but examples of his musical genius.           --------

Seen it yesterday, it was too much of a soap opera forme, nice direction still.

Not the best movie by Boyle by any means.           "The dedication to repetition — the search for nirvana in a single held tone or an endlessly cycling rhythm — is one of electronic music's noblest gestures."
