I never attacked any of the flagholdingpeople. I let them live and they let me live
I just don't see the point in it except separation.. But I thank you for your different opinions. They gave me some more ideas about it and the reasons people might have for taking flags to a party.

i see what you guys are saying...i think its different here in north america than it is in europe since there are so many people coming from different countries to parties in europe.
I personally would never wave my flag around, but its because I'm american and i don't want people thinking i'm an imperialist pig. Once at a psy party in florence italy i found the promoter and showed him my passport just because i didn't speak italian and i wanted him to know that i was a foreign trancer having a kick ass time at his party.
a couple times at festivals in quebec i'll see people with a mexican flag or costa rican flag hanging up at their campsite, and its cool for me to see because i think "holy shit these people came to canada all the way from central america...I should go say hello and practice my spanish"
I think if they were all in my face about it, i'd find that annoying but in my experiences its just been a "hey i came to this party from here."

back then they had other symbols, same thing. The abuse of any symbol that leads to war...

Jeez! Let´s drop our leopard tights, way overpriced trance wear and lighter leashes and all take to wearing the same practical blue jumpsuits. See where i am getting at? A flag is a symbol like any other, nothing unique about it. It represents exactly what people want it to represent as evidenced in this discussion. I was kinda happy to see some kids bring a full size Danish flag to the dancefloor at Boom while i played. Maybe that´s because to me it represents my country as a whole, good and bad and we are a tiny country with an alien language, not many of us around. To us it becomes an identifier more for our own than a differentiator to others. The fact that we as humans grew up in different cultures has a big impact on the influences in this scene as well, and i dare say the cultural output would be severely diminished had we not had differences in our respective cultures (as for example represented by a flag in it´s simplest form) Anyway summer is still here! Enjoy the sun, make some music, have fun! But let´s drop the flag thing. Other things are more pressing!

I remember a time where there was no need to bring flags to the party.
Where the music was without faces too.

i also do not like national flags on the dancefloors.......we are there for the music and to feel connected not to mark our own nationality....for what? Music is universal........flag is nationalist symbol and i do not see what we should use a national flag for!
We should unite and not devide......flags and borders were done for devide the people and control them better ! Flags are symbol of division. I am this and you are that........me no like

I think it's important that you STFU about trance festivals being all inclusive then saying ppl who are nationalistic should not be included. You're just as screwed up in your ideals as them.

It doesn't bother me a bit, and at a festival even less, it's all good
Tudo que é melhor e mais superior em mim saúda tudo que é melhor e mais alto em si |
