This album is totally irritating.

I don't say that because I'm disappointed or because I had high expectations.

It's irritating because:

--it irritates my ears.
--it irritates my mind.
--and most importantly, it irritates my nerves.

I think the whole thing is one big, chaotic mess of ideas and sounds thrown into the FX blender and spit out the other side. After a few minutes, it really gets on my tits. After 60 minutes I want to smash it.

To me this album is totally empty of feeling or emotion--how many times can you listen to the brightest lad in the class show off before you want to pop him? I've reached that point with this one.

I got not one moment of pleasure out of the whole thing. I can't imagine even listening to it again.

Thanks for the memories, Mr. Posford! You provided me with a few blinders over the years, and I'll always be grateful for those, but this ain't one of them.

Now I have to go listen to some downbeat to clear all that sonic muck out of my head...

I don't think anyone else on the psy scene creates such strong opinion as Simon Posford. 12 pages of the stuff! Whatever he does, he has one hell of a reputation to live up to. It can't be easy for the guy.

One good thing though is that if you don't like his latest album then it's no big problem - there is always his next project/album and chances are you will like that one, so indeed... nothing is lost!

Favourite tracks are: 4, 8, 15, 16, 23 and 42.           Am i the only one who believes in solipsism?

i think this is a great album
fantastic production.
quite unlike what i expected.
at first the harsh noises really put me off,
and the opening tracks having been rereleased,
i was a little put off.

however this is definitely not a standard chillout album, or an ambient album. its a unique sonic voyage, with no equal.
my favorite shpongle is Tales.

also, people who hate this album, quit acting like you are oppressed. no art appeals to all, if you dont like this album, dont listen to it... but we arent going to feel sorry for you.

I found this album kinda boring. I didn't like where they were going with Tales of the Inexpressable, so I kinda knew that was going to be another failure.
It has couple of nice moments in it like Tales of the Inexpressable did, but nothing as good as Are You Shpongled?.

Something amazing happened on my recent travels, I bought some new walkman headphones, the type that fit right into your ears. These unsuspecting tranducers became a periscope to my consciousness. Nothing is lost. The album came alive and fired up the circuits of my imagination, invocating beautiful shamanic flavours whilst I fell awake, the molecular superstructures of my imagination feasting on pure sonic bliss, invoking botanical dimensions hitherto unexplored. Turning up the silence did not help.

In my opinion the total is more than the sum of the 20 parts. The journey to outer shpongolia (via the nebbish route) with the connoisseur of hallucinations is one I am yet to tire of. Yet nothing lasts, and perhaps only when I get shnitzled in the negev in perfect harmony shall I be free (and exhalated).

dont know what to say abt this cd ...ive had this with me for like 2 months but whenever i started to hear it i always changed the music to somethin more chilly ....ive postponing a dedicated listen for more then 2 months and finally i decided to give it a shot

dont want to elaborate but its just one of those cds u listen a few times then leave to rust in peace ...

sorry most of this isnt danceable nor fit to play in the chillout style i prefer ....the electronic sounds are too harsh and i seriously cant get past the whole flow concept ...damn its irritating ....iam right now on track 15 and iam feelin so lost within so many sounds that it confuses me and make me wanna turn it off ...

many tracks with the whole guitaring and salsa, samba thing seem soooooo cheesy ...

maybe my mind still cant get this music right ...

now iam off to play some ott and clear my head to sleep .

tracks i liked would be

-Schnitzl'd In The Negev
-Molecular Superstructure
-Exhalation (this one has some nice flute work by Mr.Raja Ram)
-The Nebbish Route

Edit: would like to add the sounds and quality is top notch ...well u cant expect anything less from twisted ...

cheers to the crew

I reckon its a masterpiece

No other trance artist alive can even come close to this level of production.

Strong concepts and strong ideas.

Its an album and not just a compilation of tracks which is rare these days.

Sphongle deserves to be credited very highly with this work.
