Aren't u guys going a 'bit' over the top with this obsession for the new shpongle album? fair enough the last 2 where fairly good, and it has already been proven that the 'shpongle' style can actually be copied. so whats with this obsession? also not only shpongle but this silly obsession with simon in general, from all of this last tracks under hallucinogen I could swear to god ive already heard those sounds in previous tracks of his but just using a different melody. want something different? a bit old but still good? NeutroN,

If you 'think' that Shpongle is just 'fairly good' and you also 'think' that the Shpongle style has been faithfully copied (which doesn't say much other than to show great respect for Simon, Raja, and guests that people are 'trying' to copy their style), maybe you should just ignore this topic and take part in the topics regarding Shpongle imitations or whatever you find to be more than 'fairly good'.           ****keep the peace****

I agree with NeutroN more or less...!

no doubt Shpongle made an all-time chillout classic and paved the way for many acts... and i have HUGE respect for them...no need to say they are better than fairly good.

but I wholeheartledly understand his lack of 'hype' and enthuiasm regarding the new Shpongle. Yeah, I look forward to hearing it whenever someone plays it for me...

But I'm definately in no hurry to pre-order it.... cuz I can think of a half-dozen upcoming new releases that perk my intrest more...

If you mean aritst like Shulman and Entheogenic when you say the 'shpongle' style can actually be copied, you're right.

It can be copied.

But they can't come close to the original.

I don't find Shulman too similar to Shpongle..           "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program."

absolutely, I think Shulman really copied Shpongle's sound. And as for Entheogenic - that 'Impossible Landscape' track on Module 01 is a really great rip-off from Shpongle!

I can't flippin' wait for this 'Nothing Lasts' album from Simon & Raj. They rule.            - - It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice... - -

ahhh but you see this canno be a bad thing because if you look in the cover of their first album, Entheogenic specifically thank Shpongle for their influences And yes I'd have to say that Shulman's first album was very mch ike Shpongle, as I recall it was even advertised as Israel's answer to Shpongle anyway But the thing is, Shulman has sicen found himself and the music has so much more personality in the second album, it is amazinh, and his remixes are outstanding... can;t wait for Shpongle either, and they changed the ambient scene for sure, but I think if this is their last album, theyleave on a good and wise note for those who were influenced to take the ideas much further anyways I'm ready to get Shpongled one last time
