Well...whats wrong with writing list? i use to do that and right now sometimes...im not genius, couldnt recognize or recall them fully. And also it did help me a lot on remembering each tracks, i think it is kinda a step for me. First i arrange my set and write down any inspirations i have, then latr i dont need to write down cuz my brain has been trained naturally.

Another option is to keep writing lists, but to develop both the way that you use them as well as what you use them for.

Its in no way a matter of you being better or worse, list or no list. When you DJ, you must always perform at your very best, and you will do so no matter what method you use.

Professional instrumental artists playing in orchestras still use nodes, even if they might remember it all by heart anyway.

While I can DJ as well as anyone without notes, I am able to DJ better with. This means, that the end result is better with notes - and since I can switch freely between using notes and DJing "on the fly" there is no drawback.

Actually, it would be easier to "make a case" against DJs not using notes, calling them lazy and unprepared, if it wasnt for the fact that notes probably do not work for them, and Djing on the fly is a way better method for them - people have very different skills in regards to how good they are able to prepare themselves.

The only drawback of using notes is, that with the type of notes I use it takes extreeeeeemely long to prepare a DJ set. So, its a lot of work.

However, I think the end justifies the means - as in the time I spend in preparation. (Making notes for a 3 hour set will take about 9 hours, if done as fast as I can).
