Good point, I remember hearing people complaining that the scene is loosing it since the beginning of the 90's.
And us who getting to be the older generation in the scene will probaly keep complaining.
Always the older generation complains about the choice of music by the young.
It's life it seems, we are to stubborn to accept the changes, and we get bored with what we know. |

ok ok i have a "final solution"....
DEATH TO ANY ONE WHO IS NOT AT LEAST A SEMI-PRO AFTER 1 YEAR OF TRYING,BUT IF U ARE STUCK AT SEMI-PRO LEVEL FOR TO LONG U WILL BE SHOT IN THE HEAD TO ALLOW OTHERS TO TAKE YOUR SPOT......OH YEAH AND IF YOUR A PRO BUT YOUR MUSIC SOUNDS THE SAME OR SOME WISE ASS THINKS HE IS BETTER THAN U AND MORE CREATIVE......BOOOOOOM ONE SHOT TO THE HEAD TO MAKE ROOM FOR A SEMI-PRO WITH NO PATIANCE........

Did I ever mentioned i was pissed cause i was at semi-pro ?? Why are you even stuck with that tought yet ?
The only thing i ment is that after all the work I did, i still have the humbleness to call myself a semi-pro. And that was it.... it wasnt even the relevant issue on the thread.
I mean no disrespect at all, but perhaps if you (and others) would actually READ the posts before rushing into the writing.. this might not happen. |

Nomolos frequently takes the things to a very extreme sizes and directions..
I think it is a great thread and an important one.
Look at other genres in music making, especially those that demand REAL mastering of a playing tool, such as violine or a piano. Ppl there can work for 20 years and still play a minor role in a philharmonic orchestra. And those ppl actually train the scales and etudes every day for hours!!! it is very hard and many times boring schedule and still they do it to become better and maybe in the end to be a solo leader of orchestra or something like that!!
In our scene, ppl like Nomolos ( for instance ) think, that 1 year of playing around with cubase is enough to go on to labels and start the breakthrough..

I am completely in same mind as u and understand u fully.
Remember tho, that the most talented ones, and those that create the most immense and amazing things usually feel about themselves that they know nothing.
That is why they keep on learning and seeking knowledge and so get better and better all the time to continue and create things that will leave others amazed at their art..

Quality is something that everyone can judge. ART is something that hard to judge, but shitty art will always stay shitty art as great art will always be great art.
Quality HAS to be judged all the time - if not, then it will dissolve like in psytrance

hehe nice....i am an extreme person that thinks of shortcuts....mmmmmm...all because i think people should just do there thing and not try and tell others how to do it,its called ART not every one does it for the glitz and glory....Fu Shi i really am extreme when it comes to Alitizem and putting peoples way of expretion down ....cheers

Half true, since u charge money for it. If it is worth the money your conclusion is correct. But if it costs 70NIS and it is complete amateurish product, I would be glad if the same individual would practice a year or two before demanding money for his creation.
