just got my boat ticket for samothraki festival....boat tickets are on line, check their web...but they only serve alexandroupolis - samothraki and return....

Raja Ram and Monro are both cancelled from Samothrakidancefestival. Has that something to do with the fact that they are both participating in other festival in Greece only a month before SDF? I'm referring at Summer Valley three day festival at Porto Kufo, Halkidiki, at the end of July. Last year was well known that SDF team did not allow 'their' artists to perform in Greece or at some major festival couple of months before the Samothraki (at Voama or Boom for ex.) and that they were obligated to sign that clause all together with signing the contract for SDF. If that is the reason, then what will going to happen with GMS considering that they are on the Porto Kufo line up too? Anyone have got some idea?  |

Its a pretty common clause & Boom were not overly keen on anyone doing both either. For right or wrong - if a festival is commercial & you are paying artists a resonable fee - you have to make sure people are going to come & see them - which they may not do if they're playing somewhere else close by.
Having said that - I was chatting to someone I know who was on the SDF chill out stage last year about this very thing and he just asked if the organiser if they could take the clause out of his contract & the organsiers were fine about it... |

Very funny to see on the line up people that were tottally against the Samothraki Festival and its organisers because as they said last year there was not even one Israeli producer or dj on the whole festival.In private discussions they were even swearing that they would never play there for not even all the money of the world cause as they said it was a matter of principles.
Anyway nice to see Dimitri Nakov on the line up cause for me he is a hell of a dj and very nice also to see Loic of Total Eclipse on the chill out stage,he is the man for sure.
Oh and something for all the party promoters and organisers in the whole world,PLEASE stop this stupid thing with the 'exclusivities' on artists and dj's cause its really ruining the scene and the parties.It doesnt even leave space to work for the people that are trying to do parties properly with the artists that they think that will give people a good time. Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!! |

Well, sometimes its easy to let the words come out of your mouth....but its completely different when the time is now and you have to make a decision, then is the time that many people will forget what principles are...!
As about Loic in the chill out stage, I bet that he will perform really good, but definitely he is not the Man-IMO-in the chill out stage comparing with all these "massive" performances that gonna take place!
Chill stage is on fire!!!
