S-range 2001 (Spiral Trax)
track listing:

1.Re Entry
2.Yellow Base
3.Reality Check
4.Complete Delete
5.DOS
6.Darwin Project
7.Morning Star
8.2001
9.Maser
10.OPP

well, i love the swedish sound, and this album is another reason i'm inlove with sweden :-)
this album is very well produced and done.
i wont write about each track but let me say that some are clubby, some are darker and some are full-ons, so if you liked son-kite, you would love this (i think).
i like most of the tracks from the album but two tracks really get me: 7,8. those two will rock a party when heard.
if you like this type of sound, go get it.

bye bye

i agree 100%
great great album
here's some info from spiral trax website:Another space odyssey from Spiral Trax! Anthony Sillfors grew up in Kiruna
in the north of Sweden. The extremely cold climate, the Aurora Borealis
and the fact that the only Northern European space station is located
nearby his hometown must have caused some serious damage to his brain.
Today he suffers from an almost insane obsession with science fiction.
After travelling the world as a professional skateboarder, he first got
his first dose of trance on a vacation in Mexico in 1992. Since then, he
has been a regular party chaser around the world.
In the late nineties, he decided that it was about time to send his own
sonic frequencies in to outer space and started producing music. Releases
on labels such as Flying Rhino, Medium and MDMA in Israel soon followed.
He is now based in Gothenburg and is belting out tunes in a furious tempo
from Sector 3 in the Spiral Trax HQ.
According to Anthony the music is best describe as a sci-fi sound FX
orientated morning trance with coded data from space! We just call it
banging trance with nice harmonies and a huge soundscape. Now his time is
spent touring and producing the debut album from PREX, a project he is
sharing with Noma.
Judging from the recent reactions to his live sets it looks like S-Range
will be the next big act from Spiral Trax.

asi - you can get it in psyshop.com or wait for tower rec. :-)
logic - thanx for the history, haven't checked spiral's website yet :-).
i liked what someone wrote in goatrance website:
"Atmos had sex with an Israeli Woman...and nine month later, a son was born: S-Range"
i think that can define better what i wanna say :-).

bye bye

a letter to S Range

Dear Anthony

why? WHY?!

who told u u can do morning music? who gave u permission? its not enough to take the same sounds u always use, add a synth pad or two and make a "morning" cd. This is not what you're paid for. this is not the way i expected the debute SRange album to sound like. i wanted it fat, meaty, evil, twisted, with ultra maflitsizers everywhere, crunchy to the bone and massive to the core.
instead we get tracks that sound like Atmos on a bad day, with fluffy little synth pads, outdated buildups, high bpm and very little in terms of groove.
why? what have i done to deserve it?

now get back in the studio and do some serious soul digging.

Like Guy and Tomer said- not good.
I started to think i'm the only one who doesn't like this album but i see i'm not alone :)
I can't really describe what's wrong with this one, it's just that it doesn't fit the s-range style, it just doesn't sound right, like guy said, morning music the s-range style? doesn't sound right...

& one more thing about it.... like we didnt crusify him enough....

what i loved in the older s-range stuff was that the man knows how to tell a story in track , this album got some stories in tracks from time to time ,but they r so lame & borring .

anthony i'll join guy & send u back to the studio

u can do so much better.

Don't know why people on this this forum didn't like this album back in 2001. I personally think it's a great album, which really has some wonderful, deep and melodic morning tracks. Especially "Re-Entry", "Reality Check", "Darwin Project", "Morning Star" and "2001" comes to mind.           DJ pr0fane (Iboga Records) | Multiphase
