No problem with artists remixing whatever they like. The only thing is though that i would like them first to receive permission from the original artists before remixing something.

P.S Dado hasnt make a remix to Voodoo People,he is a very innovative artist to do such a thing.           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

i dont know, but this Dire straits and Voodoo People are not so bad!
the stupid remix is for Metallica.... i wanted to Seek and destroy the guy who did it:) when i listened to it on the dancefloor...
anyhow remix is always good when its good done, same like a new track is good when its good done,
This remixes, bootlegs is pretty IN now as you all knows in every dance music scene thats means only one thing that TIME OF CHANGE has come to be switched and relaoded for something new and fresher in electronic dance music.
respect for you all

Misha once again it's not about the quality of the remix !

It's the fact that the same track has been remixed at least 3 times (and maybe 4) in less than 6 months... which is becoming frankly funny !

Not only about releasing it but about creating it also.

How can you remix something if you dont have the original files from the original track?

Probably you cant and if you try to do so then you will probably end up with a bad remix.           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

well some artists do know their shit.. you know they actually know how to read notes.. that's all you need for rock/pop tracks..           "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program."

You have to hear Prosper remixes of "Pop Corn" and "Greece 2000", master piece of work, but very small odds to be relesed, that's a shame ... Sometimes if producer stay without of idea, it's good to work on some remix, but it is not good if producer make his career based on making remixes over and over again !           myspace.com/audionova

I agree with Boxer in the sense that having 3 or 4 Rmx's of the same track come out in rapid succession is wierd. What are we now, the house scene? A remix ALBUM, like KoxBox's "A Major Problem in Australia" and Paps' (whatever happened to that guy!?) "2000 Hands" are cool in my book, because it's a collective effort by the artists to show their own take on a track they love. I was kind of bummed not to see a Banco de Gaia remix of Shpongle on the Rmx Album though. That would be killer.

But a remix can and should be done if it doesn't just sound like a rehash of the old song. If there's nothing new, or exciting in the artist's take on the track they're remixing, then why bother. Bah. GMS's remixes of "Gamma Goblins" and "On the Rox" were innovative and intelligent remixes. And of course, not every song should be remixed.

I really hope that the old-band-cover-song-remixing thing goes away quietly before it becomes outta control. Tim Healy (remember Quirk?) was one of the first people in the progressive/house scene to remix old pop hits and then suddenly there were remixes up the ass, and everywhere artists were shitting out remixes like they all had bad hangovers. It got to the point where a "remix" could be the exact same song with a kickdrum over it. Urk.

Not like I think psytrance artists will do that (*ahem* can you say Search and Destroy remix?) .... at least not go that far. Please.

But, to get back to the point, I don't think 5 artists should remix the same track at the same time unless it's for a remix album or something. That's kind of boring, I think, and it means the dancers are going to have to listen to WAAAY too many versions of the same song...lol.

And if one more person uses that "Mutation...it is the key to our evolution" sample again I'll and then take a big
