An interesting artical about creating a computer with AI to replace the DJ (Hebrew)

Sounds weird           Please REMOVE my cellphone number from any SMS spam list you may have. Thanks.

very very...

i think the part that says "dj is 90% technique and 10% inspiration" is wrong and there's a few fundamental mistakes in this article
you can have a great technique and still not be a good dj...
no sofware with AI or not will ever come close to human, a human that knows the job i mean
thats the difference between ART and mass production .

it's sad...

no computer can replace the soul that a musician/dj brings!

Hi,
what a stupid idea!
No compuer can replace a DJ, because no computer can observe the ppl to decide, what they need!
If u play a killer-set one time and u play exactly the same set on another party, it might be the worst!
Some ppl have really wicked ideas (I'm so sorry, that I'm not able to read the article cause of hebrew). ROFL

Nothing can compare to a human dj.
You can have fun with him while playing,to show your emotions,to request a track,to hear him make mistakes while mixing           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

Well, to all of you that say a computer will never be able to replace a DJ... not so long ago people thought it's impossible for a computer to beat a human at chess. A bit longer ago, no one thought that the computer will ever replace the typewriter. Before that, no one thought that a machine would ever calculate complex multiplication faster than a human.

so, maybe not in 10 years. Maybe not in 20. But in a field which is both highly technical and extremely logical (style/buildups, track selection and order), I don't think humans will last forever.

Well, at least in progressive and techno. Goa algorithms will be a bit more difficult

i don't thinks its so unreasonable to replace a dj with a computer, to just do the beat matching or whatever, but i think there is more to djing than the technicalities - otherwise djs are just human jukeboxes.. so you would have replaced a dj with a computer, but you would not have the same experience maybe - no personal touches...           >>love will tear us apart...<<
