remixes - good/bad/indifferent?

To make a remix is a great fun and for me the meaning with making a remix is to create a new feeling with the track. This doesn't mean that the remix will be better or not ... just another thing (in one or another way).
But I can really say that some remixes is really bad. They can be good tracks but have nothing to do with the org track and then you loose the point. Actually it can be really hard to make a remix of something in the same genre ... made a ooze remix of a psychedelic rock band and that was a really great experience.

RMX`s are nice. I love to hear a diffrent style with the same noises. I like to hear the style of the artists who is rmxing it.
I think there are bad rmx`s but it is still fun to hear the rmxrs story to the track. |

The first track has it own feeling (Like A Coca Cola) like seb here said and when u try to modify or replace that feeling with another u just make a pepsi instead.

AGREED!!!
that rmx by psycraft is possibly my favourite track!
As has been elaborated earlier, Bitmonx do a great job of remixing, as do GMS.
But i have no preference as to whether a rmx is better or not than the original. Some are, some arent... |

well usually people like what their hooked on at first...so it's hard to hear the remix done by other artists, it pisses me off sometimes ; if you can't do it better, why doing it at all?
some cases are different, i.e Atmos- the only process , the original is the best imo buuuut ,I 'd rather dance to Vibrasphere's remix (reprocessed), so it makes them both good.

well it's totally individual. lets say you really like a certain track which gives you shivers and that specail feeling so you have to hear it again and again. but after hearing it so much you just can't hear it anymore. this is when the remix is entering and you can bare to hear this track again. with some modifications but at least you can hear it again.  that is if the remix is good enough.
I also like hearing other artist's take on tracks cause this way you feel like both artists did this track together which actually they didn't. but it's still a little bit of each one.
but sometimes there're remixes that just ruin it totally.
a little bit  but check out Depeche Mode - Freelove (DJ Muggs remix). one of the WORST remixes I ever heard.. it's just so....unmusical! I sure laughed a lot when I heard it..

I think taste is something you can't discuss... There's always going to be someone who likes the remix better than the original and vice versa... so I guess the remixes are good things... you can listen to the same song in a different way... sometimes you will like it better and other times you won't, like all the new songs you listen to everyday...
