As some of you know already, the psytrance community has succesfully petitioned to remove the fullon subgenre from the whole psychedelic trance scene. We all know by now that it is only increasingly more confusing and ironic for dance music to be associated with psychedelic music. So from now on, whenever someone mentions psytrance, be aware that this now does not include fullon anymore.

wow

I can´t wait for the reactions in this thread :D:D

"Fullon".... A lot of fullon is very psychedelic, man. It is not something you can "remove" from the scene. The biggest psytrance festivals out there has a lot of artists who can be categorised under the, as you say, fullon subgenre..

And what do you mean by succesfully petitioned? A democratic vote or what?

I probably agree on some of your views, but this is just silly... IMO

Lock this topic. What the hell? Stop bashing styles and artists. If you don't like it, don't listen to it. I don't mind the close-mindedness but i DO mind the annoying complaints about how some styles are boring, what is going on with the scene, why are many artists making weak tracks and so on...

You can ask for a refund at the door.

The more i think of this topic, the more absurd it seems.

What is fullon anyway? The way I see it, psytrance consists of two MAIN genres: Fullon and Progressive. In between these there are dozens of subgenres and endless variations and combinations.

The diversity in the psytrance community is what keeps it alive. Music change, scenes change, people change, psytrance change.

Accept it!

The way I see it most of Full on was never part of psytrance. neither is most of progressive for that matter..

They're both individual subgenres of EDM. For something to be psytrance is has to be psychedelic.. something 99% of full on and 70% of progressive isn't

The last full on track that qualifies as psytrance was released many many years ago @ a compilation called "the mystery of the 13 crystal skulls"          "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program."

So what is psychedelic then? Tweaky chopped up sounds made with a synthesizer? gated goa-arpegggios? I respect your opinions, but what you are saying just doesn´t make much sense to me

But the guy is spot on!

Fullon is not psychedelic nor is it trance. It is fast MTV pop music done by artists that seem to cherish fame and fortune more than the actual music itself.

For way too long this music has been associated with Goa and psytrance. It is just plain wrong and it is time that Fullon and Neo fullon get filtered away into it's own corner so real psytrance can live it's own life again.

Are y'all arguing about subjectivity & perception again?? Has anyone besides myself been swept away to a beautiful psychedelic plane on an acoustic guitar? It definitely wasn't trance but it was psychedelic music.. Dude, I'm tired... feeling very off topic suddenly. Peace out people
