the cleanest software compressor i've ever heard is a freebie:

the TDR is aimed at a different result than DC8C (which i also own, and yes, is also amazing).

the TDR is based on the idea of being as transparent as possible, like high end mastering compressors (GML etc.), and working really well on complex signals such as busses and the main mix. as it's free, you might as well have both.           http://hermetechmastering.com : http://www.discogs.com/artist/Gregg+Janman : http://soundcloud.com/babaluma

i didn't like molot when i tried it, but that was ages ago.

having a pair of incredible hardware compressors here means that a software comp really has to blow me away to make an impression. so far only dc8c and feedback comp 2 have done that, and neither of them have made it on to an actual project yet, as the hardware still slays them!

yeah dc8c is good in sound, but the compression behavior don t work great on lot of material for me... but when it work it bring the smile !
i wish it was more slamming.

dave derr @ empirical labs is working on some plugs ,big hope this guy really have huge experience and knowledge

about empirical lab babaluma have you used one fatso already? i wonder if it would work well to add density to some sounds and use on buss, masters..
