With that I would like to add that raves are indeed looked upon as D PARADISE in India. If you are young and need to take permission from your parents - never say you are going to a rave!

TRapp vehement denial is often the sign of guilt - perhaps you are a raver but you just don't know it
Perhaps you have some negative associations with the word, but if you look at it in the broadest context of the word, the small trance parties in Cape you guys do and enjoy are really what raves were all about.

I like what zatitude said. However IMO it is better not to use the word rave for political reasons ("party" is a much less alarming word to the general populus")
