I used to like some old tracks when using guitars in a mature way!
Nowadays i hate them!!!!!!!!
but it still depends what type of guitars:
Sphongle 2 track no.1 is excellent or example. |

To my opinion Guitars in Trance are awesom in Trance especially with Distortion!
I noticed that quite not a bit of people turned to Trance leaving the Metal Scene for it... like i did , not totally but somewhere...

Everytime, when i hear guitar sound/resolution in particularity with distortion in trance track, the resolution are bull shit....
Please men, listen more rock or make a visit in stud !!!
Maybe, Tim s was the only one who practice very well and understand that !
Guitar in rock, and fluorocolorspirit in trance

If make a track more interesting no problem.
Is mater of taste. some ppl like it some other no.
there are tracks for both of them.

First of producer shouldn't lock himself out of using any instrument that makes sound. guitars? why not? i don't think there's anything wrong with using guitars. and personally i believe that guitars (if used properly) add more drive to the track.
Of course, it is true that use of any instrument depends on producer's skillz, he may lay down nice guitar riff or run some cheezy loops. Many say guitar sounds are overused: why to stop there, how about majority of trance trax having the same overused and abused drumlines, basslines, acidlines, synthlines and all???
to sum it up, i appreciate the creativity and the producing skillz used on a track and not what instrument was used on it. guitars, just like any other instrument, are as good as you make them sound.

Im not saying i have anything against distorted guitar lines, but i would also like to hear more very nice plucky acoustic guitars. i think it brings a really nice atmosphere to the sound, makes it more complete. acoustic guitar sounds so warm and has such nice tone... |
