This is acctualy quiet an intersting thread...LOL
It also happend to me that since I started djing I dont dance as much as I used to before... which doesn´t mean that I don´t dance anymore. I think when you are a dj you just tend to analyse the music and the crowd more and you are more conscious on what happens around you at party´s. Also it demands more quality music, better djing to please you, hehe

you are absolutely right benji....sometimes i tend to analyse things to death instead of just dancing. but then again when i finally do dance i just run amok........usually spilling beer all over myself.

Yes I dance ... when i mix and when i don't
(except with ambient, in which i prefer diving).

It's so good to let my body speak ... and to listen to it

maybe djing or creating music brings people to a more lucid/cold, rational, analytic approach to the music.

the dj never dances fully in trance coz he has to worry about the next track, the mixing, etc

They get used to analyze the music they're listening to: the goal is to learn the more possible about the track and the way of mixing and actually if you're dancing like crazy you're in some kinda trance: not that objective and attentive to particulars and details

we could call it some kinda professional deformation, it's an habit that you get after hundreds of hours of different relationship with the music, so i would not search the answer in the djs psichology...

if the ppl get crazy and I get positive reactions I put it faster ... so many times I've ended my set at 160-165 bpm           http://trishula-records.com/artists-pages/melorix.html

So think what happens if u are a musician/producer.
I cant feel the music anymore like everybody else, having fun with it etc, even if i try to.
I can dance depending on the music and my mood.
It should be really good to make me feel and say "oh shit what did this bass...rd wrote "and move my body.
Generally most artists i know are critical listeners, thinking of the proccess of the track           HTTP://www.decadancerecords.it/audioplug

I surely dance, when music is in my style) I can't hold energy when powerfull music is played by somebody or i play Its happen automatically when my brain take a waves that he like But sure thing very difficult to make me happy and dance if playing music i don't like, for example too fluffy... but i trying to miss this partys, and going solely in the partys i like
