OK constructive criticism: at the last set, please play for example Astrix and anything with Michele Adamson, otherwise there is no reason for me to come.

If you had stayed till the end, you would have noticed that Konflux did a really nice job of playing Crystal Sequence from Eye to Eye by Astrix. It was his last track, and definitely worth waiting for. Thanks for playing!

Edit: Most of us show up to meet new people, hear something different... basically to expand ourselves. Noone gained anything by staying in a shell.

No he was there, and I attempted to be cordial with him, by introducing myself and trying to welcome him to the L.A. psytrance scene. The reception was somewhat lukewarm.

Oh it was you!! Sorry man, I'm pretty bad with talking on the dancefloor, I prefer to talk on my cigarette breaks! It's just that I can hardly hear anything there... I didn't mean to snob you or something, on the contrary, I was happy to finally find somebody to talk to! But I didn't see you later on my breaks. Sorry if this is the impression you've got from me.

One last track is not enough, I want a whole build up for the entire hour! If this is the philosophy behind the Wednesday parties, maybe I was wrong and can enjoy these parties! Although I'm not sure how much it will be possible after all my criticism......

Verbal damage is not always permanent.

That said, I usually come to hear something that is NOT in my CD case... I have a nice sound system in my car, and can listen to what I currently have anytime I want.

To be honest, there was a time when all I listened to was Infected Mushroom, because that is all I knew. Occasionally I would hear some Astrix or perhaps even some Juno Reactor. And I didnt know ANYONE in the L.A. scene that was still around. (I knew a handful of people some years ago).

I introduced myself to a couple of people... showed up every week... and now nearly a year later, I know nearly everyone - or they know me. Also, my CD case is EXTREMELY diverse, and now I am listening to stuff that I would otherwise not have had the privilege to listen to. Try some Exaile or perhaps some PopStream as some new stuff. If you are unable to access new music... ASK SOMEONE.

I have everything in my collection archived. If you want a CD or two, I would be HAPPY to return the favor that others did for me.

Bottom line: be a bit more accepting, and go about your experience with a slightly more open mind. You might like something when you listen to it on your own without a DJs influence...

Thanks man, an excellent reply, I have nothing to say about it, just to listen.

I just wanted to say that KonFlux played a killer set, one of the best we have had at PsyFix, and that said, that goes to show you how much of a rookie this guy psy eugine is in the trance scene, he has no clue about what this music is about, he is stuck on Astrix, which goes to show you he is into commercial trance for little gay boys, so I suggest Mr. PsyEugene you dont attend any real PsyTrance parties because you do not like Psytrance music, psytrance culture, and psytrance people, you belong at the Avalon, there are some real good commercail parties going on there, Astrix, Infected Mushroom, Yahel, Astral projection, G.M.S they all have played there, and will play there in the future, this knind of events are more up your alley, since your ear needs a lot more training, go to those kind of events, and maybe when your ear is fully trained and your mind fully opened, i will see you at a PsyTribe event kicking up some dust, until then keep complaining and wait for Astrix to release another album, maybe next year.

Where Astrix, where?????? Just tell me where I can hear Astrix (not even live, just his tracks!) and I'll go there. BTW I used to listen only to what you call quality trance, but now I can't stand it anymore, it just sounds stupid to me, now I'm into having FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNN, and this is what Astrix delivers.

OK I see I'm too controversial in order to be able to mix with the LA psytrance people, what can I do.

Hey, there's enough trance for everyone, so quit bickering!

I thought Vasili was wicked, and a perfect way to finish up the night. I had to train spot a couple of his tracks! Nice job there, Konflux!

I had a great time, and want to thank everyone who came out. We had a pretty good turnout, and lots more girls, so there was a nice balance of yin/yang going on. Really fun night overall.

I didn't think this scene was about being judgemental. So, stop it already, you two. A great night was had by all, and you guys are wreckin' it.

love w

This has gone a bit farther out of proportion than I had expected; there is one final comment from me.

Saturday, July 30th:

AVALON - Infected Mushroom and Astral Projection - probably ends at 2am.
- there will be plenty of candy trancers, and people who simply clubhop ... those who are there just to get their weekend on, not those who could name more than one or two psytrance acts of any kind.

- get squished on the dancefloor with people you dont know, or dont care to know

- find yourself out on the streets of Hollywood right about the time you get your groove on

THE RANCH - PsyTribe's 8th anniversary, with a lineup of plenty of our favorite locals - goes until 4pm Sunday

- plenty of people that are worth knowing or getting to know.. the kind that are here for the music, and the culture, and will spend hours discussing electronic music creation and speaker anatomy while nodding to the lovely sound coming from the dancefloor.

- nice big DIRT dancefloor with a limitless ceiling and an infinite number of lights and plenty of elbow room

- bring a tent or a large vehicle, and be able to take a nap when you want... and leave when you want.

I may go to both, just for the heck of it. Contrast is a welcome detail in my life.

If you can only afford one, or are only able to attend one... choose wisely.

The facts are out there for you to decide.

I think I have.

P.S. Expand your mind. Try something new.
