Morning freak out? nooo we have never.........YEAH RIGHT!!!

How about 1999 a party I opened for in my rookie days ASTRAL PROJECTION! put together by Electric Blue or

New Years Two Thousand Tree --My set was over at 6am the dust was flying and Treavor-Moontribe was playing right after me with more super succulent frequencies for the morning air to swallow. And many more I’m sure! So yeah we have had our share of morning freak outs. Sorry you missed them Demi maybe next time. =)

Rich like many other people who support the steadily growing scene out here in Los Angeles have a great role to play. It has been dedication like his that so many others have. We have all known each other for years and more to come. This is what is special here and similar everywhere else I'm sure. It is this kind of community dynamic that helps the scene here grow.

Back HIS tory

LA has grown into what we know and love today as the psychedelic trance party from some key players in the industrial scene that were here first. Or at least that was the history taught to me. The teachers were the ones responsible for throwing some of the very first parties where talent was brought out for us to enjoy. People like GOA Vibe Crew, Sixth Sense, Infinite Frequency, and then you had local sub movements that sparked more interest like, Moontribe (Daniel & Treavors sets particularly), Integral Gathering. This was all pre 1999'and a little after. It was those groups who inspired who you see at the forefront today. Green Sector, Heavy Rotation (which really is Sixth Senses' alter ego), PsyTribe, and Feel Free etc.. While some of these may have been active before 99 no one can say that they were in the foreground. Since then it has exponentially grown and still growing! I have seen it with my own eyes!

Our global coverage is a joke! OK OK so we don’t have 15,000 people at our parties and we don’t have the freedoms that other places up north in Cali have but c'mon. People should hear more about us out there in those global portals of info IMO. This is why we have posts that start like: "Psytrance scene in America!!"
Getting one line in the "Trancers guide to the galaxy" editorial section about the USA is not good enough! We have all worked harder than that. And why would only one promotion group be mentioned and not others!! I know it was us they spoke about (Green Sector) but PsyTribe and Heavy Rotation deserve just as much comment as we do.

=) This is all just an opinion and you can take it or leave it =) what ever makes you feel better =)

Not wishing to argue, i do have to correct you Rich on what you said on SF. SF itself is incredibly diverse with practically each genre of electronic music represented by its own scene. Some scenes are stronger than others, the psy scene being one of the healthier. Parties do cross genre barriers, but not often. Most often its all psy with a downtempo 2nd room

It's all good paradigm. I had written that almost a year ago, in response to the lineups I'd seen posted to the sfbay604. it's just something you don't see down here at all. The psytrance scene here is very much separate from any other electronic music scene (cept for downtempo, which we usually have a room for).
The only exception, I would have to say are Dream Circus events, which have been including a psytrance room.
Personally, I see psytrance in LA creeping in to various scenes as more and more people hear it and dig it.

Tripknot if you are used to the scene in mumbai and the likes of F&I and Parioso then you are some what in for a slight disappointment. Strictly speakin from the NYC scene its not as big as it is in mumbai. The pro however is that the people are very nice. We have our huge parties every once in a while where we may get at most about 500 people, not like in mumbai where you get an average of 1500. The good thing however is that you will never feel there are too few parties - just that there are too few people. The true trancers out here are very loyal and will drive to the ends of the earth for a good party

How could he be disapointed? I seriously don't ever feel there are too few people...Here in LA, the one's who belong at the parties are at the parties and we always miss out and feel empty if a regular smile doesn't show.....And that's extremly important for great parties. Good people, equal good parties. It's not the quantity that counts......My opinion anyway...

David - I never worry about what other people think or say about us. Take it for what it is and appreciate what we have...Most of their opinions are assumptions anyway..Most that make their statements have never really been here....What counts to me is when Jan from X-Dream pulls me aside and says, "man, you guys have the best vibe I've ever seen here in LA....We love to come here. We always have so much fun here". To me, that says something about what the LA scene (I can only speak about where I am from) is all about, in a nut-shell.

And man, I just realized this thing was almost a year old.
assumption is the mother of all fuckups.

the psy-trance scene in nyc is small, but tight...we like things to be somewhat discrete so that we can have an outdoor every weekend...i don't like walking into a commercial party and dealing with sketchy characters...you don't really find "bad vibe" cats at the gatherings i go to...small but strong...
great music...great energy...great people...

Hi everyone.
Is there any scence in Altanta, GA? Can anybody indicate or tell me by mail some night clubs that I can go?

honestly, there really is no psytrance scene in atlanta to speak of.. a few of us have tried to push the music at a some one-offs and a few bigger 'rave'-type events, but for teh most part it seems as though people are content to stick with the more familiar (and commercially viable, lol) sounds of house, d&b, breaks, etc..
now, if you aren't that particular and would like to go to non-psytrance clubs/parties/raves, then you can check-out http://www.lunarmagazine.com and get the scoop on what is going on in atlanta and other cites nearby... check in the forum and the events section, as there are plenty of things going on if you like jungle, hardcore, breaks, house, progressive house, cheese-trance... you get the idea.

there is a handful of people here in ATL that are really big on psytrance, but even with them it is still not enough to get the kind of attendance that would be needed to sustain events regularly. if you are really looking for psytrance parties with a good atmosphere and nice people, then you need to make the 3 1/2 hour drive northeast to asheville nc, where there are trance parties on a regular basis..

Overall, I'd say the scene here is definately growing......With more and more international students (goa-heads) coming here every year, this side of the world is slowly being exposed to the virus we love. Of course, it's primarily bigger in the big cities like NY, LA, Boston, San Francisco and even Miami. You won't find any trance events in places like Ohio or Indiana (where I'm doomed to spend another year of my college life). But the spirit is getting stronger and who knows, maybe the smaller places will start getting acid-heads just like the big cities soon!!!

BOOOOOOOOM!
