hey guys... dont be so rough ...
the psytrance scene in America is growing.. Some of the biggest parties happen in SF...LA is growing as well... The west coast and East Coast have strong followings and its branching out... You see more parties popping up in all other states ... there is a scene in Atlanta, Miama, Seattle, Oregon... its growing///
Most of the music is either full on or minimal/progressive... |

its a small scene here in new york for sure... infact i feel its shrunk since the last time i was here in '98'... but i believe its growing in other parts of this big country... i spun to a handful of revellers sunday morning at one its rarest of all parties... an outdoor in new york...they used to have loads of them back in the day. quite a strange mix of djs too... each dj was given only an hour... again not enough to even warm up for a set...djs from all schools of psytrance were present and all forms were played aswell... no real format for the djs inline... a positive experience in all, especially for a traveller like me. its started at 7 am and went n till 7 pm i believe... i left by late afternoon.

SF in my opinion is the pinnacle for psy in the USA. We may not be Isreal or India but there is a psy weekly- the Taco Portal which is thrown by one of the best collectives in town- g.o.a. play!!!! And there is something going on every weekend most of the time both Saturday and Sunday nights. Especially with the summer in full swing us SF heads are throwing outdoors like they are going out of style (which they will be as soon as the cold comes again!) For the US SF is the place to be:) |

Tripknot if you are used to the scene in mumbai and the likes of F&I and Parioso then you are some what in for a slight disappointment. Strictly speakin from the NYC scene its not as big as it is in mumbai. The pro however is that the people are very nice. We have our huge parties every once in a while where we may get at most about 500 people, not like in mumbai where you get an average of 1500. The good thing however is that you will never feel there are too few parties - just that there are too few people. The true trancers out here are very loyal and will drive to the ends of the earth for a good party  |

yeah, lots of nice ppl, the only thing is that i haven't seen a morning freak out, which is the most memorable moment on parties in India(Goa). Lets check the Neuromotor party which is 2 take place this Friday 
May be it is juicier in SF - dunno, havent checked yet!

SF can bring on the morning freak out alright!!!!! The last time Neuromotor came to town he played until 10 am in the morning at a warehouse space in Oakland. SF be pushin' until dawn!!!! |

sf has a great scene...we've had many outdoor parties usally a summer solstice and 2 gilathons along with other assorted outdoors...some of us liek the crazy sounds so insane artists like digital talk fullcolor grapes of wrath and meteloids have played here...looking forward to the russian madness of kindzaza and fungus funk at burningman.,..:):) and of course fred neurokilelr is alwyas welcome and loved here...then we have amazing local producers liek penta ocelot ghreg on earth random and more all the time...its not quite europe here but its got spirit and madness going for it:) big peace!~

LA is going strong, with three big promoters holding regular parties with big name acts (when they go to SF, most of them also come to LA), as well as smaller promoters throwing parties for friends in intimate gatherings. Parties can be found indoors, in the hills and forests and of course the beaches. There is a strong family vibe in LA, with lots of nationalities contributing their own special love to this scene. Unlike SF, LA is all trance. it doesn't have parties with breaks, industrial music or techno. There is even a resurgence these days of the old Goa sound as people are reconnecting with the spiritual aspect of this music. (that is my perspective anyway). bom |
