I think it happens the same with many other style of music.
Been spinning what people call nowdays minimal tecno for about 7/8 years.
Reading comments on this forum I see how excited people get about it now.
My point is:what is boring for you may be interesting fresh for others.

Not that there are so many threads about this specific question/statement, but it has been mentioned a million times in different threads. It's the bitching effect.
Psytrance isn't getting more boring in pure amount. The fact is that psytrance has gotten more popular with more releases which leads to the genre being watered out and "dull". So lets say that in 1997 you had 30 EXITING and GREAT releases. Today you got 270 boring releases and still, you got 30 EXITING and GREAT releases. So it hasn't changed, much. Just the overall crap has increased. see?
So just dig deeper and you will find the light

why is psytrance boring?....because all groups nowadays use tha same equipment,production etc.....anyone can create anything.....A few groups has their own style on sound....I remember when i heard an unknown track 5-6 hears ago i knew that it would be 1-2 specific groups with this sound......Now i hear something and i have to compare it with 200 groups.....for example i heard the new album from Oforia.....if someone tells me that it was from any other group i would certainly believe him......but if you hear Oforia tracks from his past works you would definitely recognize his unique style.....Groups have lost their personal style so they are responsible for this kind of shit....But we should not forget groups that they ''insist'' to serve us excellent music with their unigue style.....X-Dream,Etnica,Rinkadink,Polaris,Deedrah,Absolum and others that i can't remember right now......Peace to all |

Listening to Drawn And Quartered's "Return of the Black Death" album now. It's death metal. And pretty great at that too. Seriously, check out other genres of music. You might even like it. And never care what others think.
