Let me try again: any Astrix goupies at Oregon?????????? If not, I may have to try to establish something by myself, because 2 years without psy doesn't sound good to me.......

Subscribe to the north west psytrance mailing list and inquire there http://lists.subtend.net/mailman/listinfo/nw604

Good luck

And don't ever call yourself a groupie. Ever.

Yeah, I've already subscribed there, so it's a good idea to ask there, thank you I don't know why it didn't pop up in my head... I called myself astrix groupie since someone here called me like this and I thought it was funny.... I'm not a groupie of course, but I'm a big fan!

Anyone interested in anything electronic-music oriented (any genre, any venue) need only look on http://www.nwtekno.org. EVERYTHING that happens in Oregon and Washington (and even Idaho and Northern CA sometimes) gets posted there.

Hey psy-eugene! welcome to oregon on 8/19.

the psy scene here is mostly based out of portland but occasionally there are parties in and around eugene.

your best bet for more 'mainstream top 40' kinda trance is to check out nwtekno... i think a group called innov8tors or something (one of the guys' website should tell you aboot upcoming events... www.nicktornetta.com ,) They recently brought AstralProjection and Infected Mushroom and there were previous efforts to bring GMS and Astrix, dunno what the status of that is...

A lot of the NW seems to be into the super dark psychedelic stuff... in fact, most of the west coast... www. mistressofevil.com ... www.apolloslute.com should be updated soon... environmental structures throw fun parties... we just saw x-dream up here and digital talk last year as well. also recently... oforia, psychmicro, wizzy noise, atomic pulse, psysex, uhhhh there's a bunch more but i'm in a coffeeshop in amsterdam now and i'm getting pretty uhhh... forgetful.

goa gil comes once a year to the nw... it's comin up soon now, later september. there are a ton of people putting their hearts and souls into that gathering. it's excellent every year. killer deco, great sound, unbeatable vibe. and the music.... is out of control good. Gil has been playing the hard shit tho as of late... jahbo, kindzadza, cosmo, azax syndrom, freaking, entropy... check out www.goagil.com for his 'divine dozen'tracks of the month and also for tour dates.

anywho... maybe that will help you get a bit more understanding of the scene here. maybe not. i can speak for all of us here in the NW in saying that we love seeing new faces and meeting new people in the scene. go up to someone, introduce yourself. the above comments are right. bring in yourself what you want to see in others at a party or gathering and you will have a great time!

see you soon, on a dancefloor....

Erin: thank you very much for all the information! I'm indeed into "mainstream top 40". I enjoy dark as long as it's not all the party like this, I guess I'll have to get used to this. See you there..

As teaser I don't mind plugging my pictures again, which I made at both GoaGil parties in 2004: http://home.earthlink.net/~aseq/images/

I don't visit many parties, in 2004 only those 2. I prefer quality over quantity and I just find so much else to do. I'll surely be going to the Oregon GoaGil party, as the atmosphere and music is just unbeatable. I don't know about the California one, it was good, but it didn't match the Oregon one. I would like to meet up with people more, I'm quite a loner, looking around, dancing a lot and taking pictures. Because above all I really love to see the people having a good time. I actually only moved here from the Netherlands in 2002, and only having visited a handful of parties here I reckon I'm quite new, still.
