But you are righta bout samples and reviews...
It's a shame all all cds seem to be WOW for them..
hahhaa hahhhaa,

Reviews? Mate, the text at each release is the official release-information coming directly from the label. Do you really think the labels would criticize their own releases? These "reviews" can be found at all the other internet-shops as well, so can't see why this should be specific for psyshop           DJ pr0fane (Iboga Records) | Multiphase

Well I dunno if I'm blessed or simply if the postmen in my region can do their job properly but I never had any "serious" problem (serious in the meaning 'parcel lost and me not being refunded or substitution package sent') with Psyshop.. Neither with Saikosounds.. Neither via amazon..

Being also member of a french speaking forum I've noticed there that the troubles come mostly from the postal services.. there are regions in france where you are more likely to have 'problems' than others, that's clear

Hell yeah, people, consider that probably there is a postman near you that loves psytrance too... get my point ?

well since the original topic here was why does psyshop put only 40 seconds of a track and not which online shop is the best I can give you the explenation: psyshop are working under the law of gema, which is the german copy right protection organisation existing everywhere in the world (acum in israel swissa in switzerland and so on), and they allow a sample of up to 45 seconds without the need to pay royalties for each time somebody clicks the track to listen to it. Probably the law for the local copy right org in hong kong is different since saiko DO pur longer samples usually. For Psyshop, they have no choice cause imagine what will happenb to them if they needed to pay royalties each time someone heard a sample doesnt really matter if he bought or not, or if he heard it once or 10 times for each click they will have to pay royalties to gema!!

just so you understand the secret behind this, and the reason why trance-shop dont put samples for example..

regarding the content of these 45 second well imo you cant really hear anything of the track in 45 second just maybe a gebneral idea of the speed of the track, general style maybe stuff like that and thats the purpose.. imo its better than nothing..

Regarding service and shipping etc. i can tell you from my own experience in distribution ALL online shops have faults sometimes and ALL try their best to serve you customers as best as they can!! sometime it succeeds sometimes not but the effort is there nobody thinks you dont deserve service you need to consider their own side also of sending out so many packages every day something always goes wrong nobody is perfect

Yeah well i did'nt really complain about it was only 45 sec. I don't really need more than 45 sec too judge if i like it or not.
The thing i am saying is, 45 sec is not long so don't sample the breaks in the tracks. It's so stupid.

In average 5 tracks on a cd they have sampled the breaks.

Tell me, who can use that too judge the track?

Noone!!! It's not very smart. And aswell many times i hear the same samples on track 1,2 and 3. Why?

I understand they are busy and can make mistakes, but working as a professional record online store, they should'nt make so many mistakes as they do, as you can see people in here has complained about.
It's a job like anything else, you make money to live. And as a company you can not afford to fail this much and not get fired (in regular jobs). Don't mess about so much psyshop, you could earn double as much money if you worked professional.

I personally did'nt have any problems with my deliverys yet. But many many people has, also people i know.

The main thing i just think is unbelivable, is the sample the breaks!

ANNOYING!

oh i have noticed that too.
on many samples, only breaks.. and it annoyed me.
anyway, i always surf to saikosounds.com for samples, they work great and they are long enough for me to judge if i should buy the album or not.           u can find "Anything U Want" using the search...

We had a secret track on the comp Adpated Vision so there was about 10 minutes of silence between the last track and the secret track. Psyshop managed to grab 45 seconds of that silence as the promo for the track.

How annoying...!

I'm thinking more and more that the samples aren't actually cut "by hand" though... I recon they just take the center-point of the track and cut it out from there... therefore if the track is one track which has a 10 minute long silence after it before another, then chances are the middle of the entire track will be during the silence...

Still, it's none the less annoying, as the point is to get abit of an understanding of what the track is like before you buy it...

Maybe they should check the samples before putting them online, to see if there are some which need adjusting?           www.myspace.com/beat_nik

Tsskk. Psyshop and YSE bashing is starting to be common around the users on this forum. Don't you people have better things to do? If you have a problem, well, great. Just don't expect everyone to connect to it on the same level you do. And everyone makes mistakes, so does psyshop. Let's keep it at that ok? People are blowing this up way too high!

As for psyshop: At least they have stuff in STOCK for christ's sake. Can't say the same for a lot of other psytrance shops.
And I've never had problems with psyshop. One time a cd case was damaged, but that wasn't because of psyshop. It was the fault of the postoffice.          "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. As death extinguishes us, so we become it."

never had the slightest problem with psyshop either... maybe the belgian postal services function better?

and yeah 45 secs is a bit short, but if using less bandwith helps to keep the prices of the cd's down i'm all for it
i usually know well what i want to buy anyway

Don't be. If you've never experienced problems with them it's doubtful you'll experience them any time soon. thnx! and anyways, i buy only 1 - 2 cds at a time; hence i don't stand to loose too much...

guess ppl should do the same with all the music stores...order 1 or 2 cds at a time for sometime till u get comfortable with their service and then do your bulk orders...

no point in ordering bulk without knowing whether you'll receive them and then later on cribbing about the same!           Interviewer: "So Frank, you have long hair. Does that make you a woman?"
Frank Zappa: "You have a wooden leg. Does that make you a table?"
