It seems that Psykovsky just has a few songs at the same bpm playing at the same time, each going into different channels in the mixer..
So then it looks like he uses the mixer's eq to mix in the eq bands (eg bass from mixer channel 1, mids and his from channels 2 and 3, always changing it around), then there is often a cdj in the 4th channel..
His motions are animated and exaggerated thats for sure, and sometimes it seems that he isnt moving the knobs very much, just touching them slightly..maybe putting on a bit of a show yes hehe..
It's pretty obvious to me that he's actually doing stuff at times though, especially when he's using the bass eq knobs to do hard cuts between the bass of different channels..
If he is actually doing it like this then I wouldn't really call it 'live music' either, but I like that this approach allows for constant mashups between tracks so it can sound different every time..
That's how it looks like to me anyways, any thoughts?

What I find bizzare is that idiots pay for this shit:
I'd rather have my cock cock off and shoved up my ass thank listen to fucking full on or moxer prog psy. It's the shittiest electronic music in the history of electronic music!!!

Music is so subjective, my thoughts are that if you find anything that resonates with you personally, that's a special thing, enjoy it https://soundcloud.com/traveller

Why ppl still bother about it?
What tha heck ONE person can do it Live?
Imho, u can create music on the fly (which I have a lot of respect, but it was not my goal when I made music) or play already created music.
Let´s say you don´t create on the fly. What else can you do? Play the melodies and.... No more.
Let me explain: you can trigger various samples with pads, maybe mix some loops (for sure with Ableton Live), fx´s.... But none, for me, represents playing live.
I like to play accoustic instruments. And, for me, thats LIVE. When I make cover music with a band, that´s LIVE. You can play the music with one sound! Impossible with my music.
Maybe its possible (as OOOD), but not really viable imo.
Bottom line: I dont mind if its called live or not. I like to hear good music.

IMHO it can be done live but not psytrance. For sure with a dum machine & some kinda acid (303, xoxbox etc.) and do some trippy acid techno but not psy trance.
Although I did see a dude last week with big 12u eurorack & DSI Prophet 08 do a pretty damn impressive live show with no sampler or computer. It was tripped out as can be as well but not psy trance.

Live music is playing an instrument live yes? So whether it's a synth (modular, soft or whatever) or a guitar or drums or pots n pans as long as it's played live in a musical fashion it's live IMO.
Mashing up, playing samples, re-sequencing etc. to me is not much more than DJ'ing. I mean for me when a person DJ's well they can basically remix entire tracks so really not much different.
Pressing play and twerking is not anything, it's not even showcasing. It's what I do with my iPhone or CD player. It's a complete cop out and the people doing it should not be paid one cent IMO.
I know for example that current Fear Factory (metal band) live set the drummer isn't quite up to speed on playing so a lot of the drums are programmed, and an insider I know in the industry said he isn't paid as much for this reason.
I think our scene needs to just pay people for what they do, not who they are.

That´s it!
Maybe the problem is when the Live Act start to become the standart. When I was starting to play, I´ve asked to appear on the flyer as "SMS Dj Set", which for me is only SMS music. When doing "regular" dj sets I would prefer "Dj Naka". Guess what?? SMS Live Act on the flyer.... lol

Maybe they need to pretend they do something live as the music is lacking
"The dedication to repetition — the search for nirvana in a single held tone or an endlessly cycling rhythm — is one of electronic music's noblest gestures."
