Psy-trance is no longer psycadelic?

Lately, in the forum, i came across so many "voices" stating that the majoraty of psy-trance is no longer psycadelic. I somehow was left with the feeling that it has a lot to do with the fact that psy-trance is no longer a new thing....and the excitement of the novelty is lost. Many artists found their "style" and with some minor differences stick to it until....
The "new-thing" concept that is bound to happen when a genre/scene is being born cannot be the main feature of this scene/genre or else, i have to agree with some of the "voices", psy-trance will die for sure or at least suffer from a long interruption....
Of course i believe that the psycadelic phenomena has to be present in the music (at least it´s to my taste and reason) but also, nowadays, there are several identity symbols (developed over the past 20 years) specific to this music/scene/culture that prevail beyond psycadelia and should also be taken as essential.
In the end is it all about the new, unknown sensation that will "provoke" your brain and senses or some realities have gain their place among the psy-trace reality, avoiding the vortex of the new?

No,k I think that the opinion around the forum is that mainstream psy has become more cheesy and less psychedelic.
But there is still a lot of good psytrance being produced. You should check reviews sections anf find some nice albums. |

now realy , the last 4-5 albums i heard was 100% psychadelic even if not all was exacly my taste but not much dought...

well I have purchased around 100 cd's this year of very deep psychedelic trance... I must say the most psy for me from last year si the Ocelot track "Banana"... the acid riff is so sweet, reminds me of the good old acid techno days... more like this please sir!

i really feel a lot of music coming out this days is boring and not at all psychedelic.
some producers are machines of making music without any content inside.
some labels make cd´s filled with garbage and one or two tracks are nice to hear.
some people inside the psychedelic culture are no longer psychedelic.
things have come down to something very formulae..

any damn music when listened to in a higher state of mind can "SEEM" psychedelic....and thats where the basic problem lies.....thats y so much of the music comin out nowadays is " DEEMED " psychdelic...
I personally listen to music in a fully normal state of mind and this for me is a proper judegment of a tracks psychedlic potential....
The main culprits are....
1)those 160+ bpm kids making......bloody asses....
and
2) the standard formula bound fullon music types....
these types of music and the people making them have literally pulled out the psy from psytrance and misuse the tag...
all this music is not meant to jog ur mind and twist it (in a nice way)....its just mean for the dancefloor....just jogs ur feet....
pure psychedelic music is what makes ur mind and ur feet move at the same time....

A lot of music today is super psychedelic, a lot is trying to imitate and pretend without sucsess. For me it's a "Saw; the movie" thing. Its all action action and no clever twists.
I dont want to rpeat my self to much, but fuck this chemical wannabe psy trance. Psy for psy, not chemical powder for psy. Clubs. More party, more drugs, more music.. more more more..
