i think the commercialisation of psy in discos and night clubs are leading the artists to play a more house kinda genre and the good ol' sounds are missing..many a times i've been to mumbai n baring maybe a event or two it sucks....lets stop this suicide of psy music to the commercial crowd mates..... lets make more goas maybe....manali , pushkar , varanasi , north-east india ( sounds kick ass) and have nepal style parties flooding in....anyway the indoor stupid 2 am deadline or so pisses me off so so so much hence the new topic to create awareness that this way psy culture will get wiped away...... its my opinion only.... |

Unfortunately its all we've got at this point in time...
dont bite the hand that feeds you 
2am deadline has to be dealt with by the clubs together... If delhi/gurgaon can now get permission to stay open, its weird the maharashtra state government doesnt want the added excise revenues..
i think suicide of psy music is a little bit harsh, but on one hand people say 'stop commercialism' but on the other they save the trance scene?? is it possible to do both??
making more goa's sounds promising but realistically it isnt going to happen... unfortunately trance parties have a bad name with the authorities, with recent events in goa, the bad side is again evident.....
make the best with what you have available, i guess is the answer... wherever you are... |

agree with goaboy. hate indoor parties too. it kills the beauty of the music. but as raoul rightly pointed out .. its all that we have at the moment , so cant really do much about the entire scenario. i wish more clubs with a both indoor , outdoor feel open up. i dunno many clubs like that ,but its one solution to the current problem facing the scene. then we can enjoy.
speaking of indoor/outdoor clubs...
is MYNT lounge and bar completely indoor?

Well! I live in Vancouver and we have only three months of summer & outdoor parties, rest is all indoor. Scandinavian countries , also Russia most of the parties are indoor cause it is very cold. Just a thought.

+1 I agree with you friend ....
People think that more clubs with the open air feel should open .. But their thinking will not open clubs automatically ...
No commercial people allowed :- i guess almost all of us were not born hippies .. But yes organisers can make sure that they should tell the club owners to let the people ( commercial ) know that it is a psy gig
and if they are comfortable with that ... then i don have issues rather its a gud sign .. out of the 10-15 commercial people who come in the gig .. am sure atleast one will start to have that feel of psy trance ... hence he may come to the next one as well .. and our community grows .. hence the music ..
at the end of the day we don't go to psy gigs to see whos around ..n whos not .. how can we even decide that who shud come and who shud not .. every one shud be given some chance atleast ..
No commercialisation of music :- If you don think commercialisation is a gud answer then i guess .. becoming a dj .. producing music aint a gud option either...
How about a proper radio channel for psy 24 hours access ..
Just think over .... Psy trance is evolving and it is going through a phase ..
One of my friend rightly said that raves are just a medium to promote psy trance .. It has seen the glory days .. After few busts it all came down ..
And am sure its gonna go up again ././. But you cannot expect a lot of raves happenin around ..
But yes a lot of people are working on bringing up psytrance .. and we all need to respect watever they do ..

Agreed on dark psy indoor is crap.
Dark psy sounds like noise in indoor clubs, half of them dont have proper acoustics everything echos and shit. Its already heavy music on top of that shit acoustics, come on!
While all this can be fixed, how are we to bring the "Outdoor Nature Vibe" inside, it cant be done.
Good call on the open air clubs that would be sweet. Lets see if it happens since in the near future, we know how slow everything happens in dearest India anyway.
P.S - When im too loaded the walls indoor make me kind of paranoid whereas outdoor the plants, animals, aliens(lol) are all our friends and make you feel safe.
Personally for me an indoor gig is nothing more than going clubbing. Id rather take a mixer, a laptop, pair of loud speakers grab some ppl and head out discovering isolated spots in nature. |

brazil ,japan , israel , portugal , uk , mexico , maybe all eastern european countries in summer has fantastic open parties, thailand in ko phangam and samui ( now obviously green spirit in krabi is canned but i was there twice and tht was awesome and so so cosmpolitan ) , russia has also many many outdoors specially goa gill party near moscow was yummy and now when and where in india is there a proper stage with decors like the gatherings or vision quest parties( except moondust but still it lacked many things) ... i agree that india has more closed parties and it sucks helluva lot mate.... we need parties but give me a break tht to see goa gill play like the way i like i hve to bloody go to moscow.....haha ..... indian youths and maybe me included we have no balls and we need to unite and grow quick....how can u have gatherings in japan ...how cum in brazil....i think they hve the same probs as us.....anyway i guess it mst be sumthings i can't tell and man i will jst head for doof or voov or boom or sumthing...untill then we can pray for sum one to atleast have decent parties and then maybe a festival....

'Fabric' in DLH was host 2 sum killa 'dark' psy parties in '05; case(s) in point, Dominator/Highko/Wizard Lizard, Penta!

I sincerely hope that this comment will not be seen as absent from, withholding, or removal of something positive; and is definitely not marked by features of hostility, withdrawal, or pessimism that hinder or oppose constructive treatment or development.
I nod in agreement with my brother Mumukshu where he mentions the likes of Penta, that was undoubtedly the best 'left-right-left' vibe I have been a part of and it was indeed, indoor!
However, wouldn't you all agree that the music sounds more attractive, favorable and commendable; the senses work absolutely in unison with the music so as to harmonize exactly and improved in accuracy, the energy of an outdoor would be much more than an indoor where the sound does not have to bounce of a surface and come back, befooling the jokers dancing.
I am absolutely discombobulated to hear that this is the third time Goa Gil is coming to Delhi and like the other two, this is also an indoor party. I have heard numourous times that his music is a difference of day and night when compared with Indoor and Outdoor!
It is not only the music being different, how about the brain being 'fried' in an indoor more often than not and never have I heard anyone telling me that he/she was 'fried' when in an outdoor!
How about the energy that we recieve from the universe, the stars, the whole of the cosmos when the master of puppets is spinning his darkest tunes, in that darkest hour of the night if one is closed inside boundaries of walls, he/she is definitely going towards the most darkest trip and who knows how that one particular person will be able to cope up with the music where if that person was to go through the same phenomenon where there is grass under his/her feet and sky above his/her head the feeling would be absolutely different.
Now comes my favourite part of an outdoor, The Sun; The energy at that time when you have defeated all your demons, when you look at the face of the person on your left and on your right who supported you all night, the smiles, the happiness, the music. Wow.
We know the answers but the organisers are not ready to do anything about them;
Let us have parties 200 or maybe 300 Km's away from Delhi, from civilisation and the money that they happily give to the club owner can be given to the local authority of that area, as the 'token of appreciation'.. give some of it to the local people in the name of cleaning the ground standing where we will, on that night rock the bottom of the Earth doing the left-right-left!
But if people want to charge INR 1000 for an gathering, we will have to go to the sad indoors.

well clubs` certainly not the best place to have a psychedelic experience thats 4 sure .. i think if the organizers have to take some responsibility here in terms of what style of music they promote in clubs .. progressive , happy tunes etc work well .. real psy music is wasted in that environment .. India isn't Russia , Sweden etc where they have no choice but to go indoors.. nobody would like to party in 3 feet of snow im guessing ..
@ cosmic gill .. goa gil has performed before in delhi on other occasions .. not always indoors
