The best protein in the market at the moment, the gourmet chocolate taste that i use is simply amazing.

One scoop in the morning when you wake up and one after you excercise (i use water not milk).           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

I buy tubs of american whey just because its quite cheap when bought in bulk compared to some other meat based proteins like fish.
http://www.bulknutrition.com/?products_id=6510
The only problem is you get burnt out on the taste hardcore when trying to get through 25lbs of the stuff.
Haven't tried them yet but I'm going with this place next
http://www.trueprotein.com/
They sell bulk amounts of unflavored whey then flavor packs so you can get a wide variety of flavors.
**SPECIAL** 50LB. Recession Whey Protein Concentrate $189.99
Thats alot of protein for your dollar.

I have been claiming the best whey protein powder on the market is Optimum Nutrition's 100% Natural Whey Gold Standard http://tinyurl.com/253pw6b
This whey uses stevia as a sweetener and includes lactase, for those intolerant to lactose (me, somewhat). I've been using this for years and it's the only one on the market I'll consider. I stay away from sugar and all artificial sweeteners which almost all the others contain.

I use a scoop and half (one scoop is 25g protein) mixed in water right after a workout, or mixed with juice if I'm about to go surfing, mountain biking, trail running, climbing or other long and strenuous activity.

OM has also come out with an oats and whey powder, which I haven't used cos I eat my oatmeal in a bowl every morning, but seems to be an excellent morning shake option.

I still haven't found a premade protein drink that isn't loaded with crap I don't want, or a protein bar that isn't smothered in sugars and other junk. If anyone knows of one, let me know.
I'm actually thinking of creating a protein bar on my own that would contain oats and/or brown rice, nuts, fruit and whey.

@Jürgen, no idea, but you could probably write the company and find out. I've actually never considered whether what I consume is gm or not, but I will start taking filtering out gm foods out of my diet, apart from choosing organic when available.

@John Doe, I use the same whey powder, but the natural one (which I see they now sweeten with fructose in addition to stevia).
Do you mix the maltodextrin with the whey or take it as a pre-workout supplement? I used to use it in a pre-workout drink mixed with juice.

Exactly. Malto before two spoons with water and then the Whey after working out. With milk.

Well your spelling indicates you have large muscles and consume your time in the gym and not wasting it with the tedious and unproductive practice like girly men have of reading and writing. That is good and should be convincing. I will not change a word.
I trust they will be trembling in their boots upon reading your simple prose and dispatch with a reply at once.

What about a pre-workout stack/supplements? i use this http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/bsn/xplode.html gives me endurance and strength to get through a 1.5 hour workout. but ive always wondered about the side-effects of creatine for eg i feel less sleepy at night and very thirsty. is there something other than creatine which could work as well for pre-workout ?

i was using the gold standard whey post workout last year due to which i put on a lot of mass/bulk. im thinking of switching to this http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/mt/tech.html ive heard it helps add more lean mass unlike the gold-standard which is just out and out bulk.
