Its been over a year now, since I had more or less expected a good turn out in the number of people who somehow are as much into the Psy chill scene as they are into Psy trance.
however, I hardly know any Indians who seem to enjoy Psy chill so much that they would hope for the emergence of a chill scene here.

Ofc there are a few of us here on this Forum who are into the music already and you know who you are, like you know how keenly I am trying to gather people to promote a chill floor at every event/party so that I can hear my favorite artists come down here the way your favorite Psy trance artists do.

So, how do we go about doing it?

Ummmm ... psy chill is kindaa really great but don think its all da much big here for it to have its own scene may be if we club it wid the trance scene it would emerge & grow ...

if i recall i think dey had a chill scene in goa some time back

It's time to move on to the next step in the psychedelic revolution. We've reached a certain point, but we're not moving any more.

If there's a club with 2 rooms... good opportunity. Organizers take note?

There are quite a few Indian artists who make either dark or morning that don't get to release their tracks on Indian Labels...Chill out would probably take a lot more time.

On the contrary chill out would be more 'acceptable' for the non psy crowd in a event and it would attract lots of people

I definately think dada music is doing awesome in terms of event management, i cant get over the slack baba gig this year...it was a awesome party.

Massive kudos to DadA for how they've introduced psy-chill in Delhi... and they're definitely setting milestones with the label as well. On the right track.

Personally, I link chillout to the psytrance festival experience. 2 Soundstages: Dance and Chill.... a long walk between the two and a full fledged lineup with stage deco. Thats one thing that most of the Indian psy-trance community hasn't even experienced yet and its somewhat a loss. The dynamics chill adds to the 'experience' is as powerful and thought provoking as any 4X4 trancedance music out there... it adds the social aspect to the gathering as well as gives artists the opportunity to play instruments ... can imagine hindustani classical working beautifully in the midst of a psychill lineup.

Most of whats happened to date has pretty much been dissociated with the typical psytrance party; for a reasonable reasons of course. But if you step outside the psytrance box, India has promoted the concept of 'chill' music more than most countries.

The integration with dance is the only missing component and I think its about time that it happened.

As Jeto said. 2nd stage in a club would be ideal though its hard to convince promoters to create it since its an alien concept. One thing that might just work is a sub-organisation that focuses just on chill and brings that out to these events. So if its indoor, the chill room is run by "X-organisation". They supply the concept, lineup, vibe.

... if its outdoor then bring your own equipment (chill doesn't really need crazy sound, 2 monitors will do) Set up a stage somewhere away from the madness and let it flow. Even if off an ipod for now, its a start. It will add so much more to the event.

Thats my 3 paisa... though if someones really interested in doing the "X-Organisation" thing we're totally game. Ganeshaa and myself are promoting this sound whenever we get the chance and his chill production is almost out the door to be released. Always open to other chillas, DJs and producers that are interested in getting their sound out there.

Shud end all psytrance parties with a chill slot...after all the heavy stomping...need some retrospection. Its not always about dancing to high bpm music.

A chill set can do wonders....After a party get a blanket....sit down...eat some fruits and lose urself in the nature.....so tat u can drive back home more relaxed.

caco... dude it can be so so so much more than just a closer and opener for psytrance. we had a full fledged chill scene out west and it was just as wild as the main stage.

have you guys ever heard a serious night psychill set? it can get as psychedelic as darkpsy.... and many of those played are the likes of Para Halu, Olien, Encephalopaticys, Atriohm, Ocelot, Nimba...

Its called psychill but when the night takes over the sound its anything but. Want some now freaks?

we need promoters not talkers...its easy to put a post here bt need a big heart to execute it.......so plan accordingly.......           Studies indicate that listening to music is good for digestion.

i remember a similar thread in the old Indian section & also remember the usual ppl. replying to it with 1 or 2 ommisions & addition.

so the point is too few ppl. are actually into 'Psychill'

talking of non psy crowd being pulled in then u really have to bring sum lounge artist with a few psychill artist to get the commerce rite out of the gig (belive it or not lounge music has much more wide fan base atleast in india)

so someone has to play the card out properly & the way DadA music is doin it seems perfectly fine (jus 1 complain no gig in mumbai ) (i mean like ultimae artist u had in delhi)
neways they are havin their first gig in mumbai this week so it's all gud

but i dont see ne other organiser/promoter doing nething bout it

i so wish i was somewhere in the west (or cud afford to go there) for the massive chill festivals. I so wish to see CBL performing.           the problem with valuing art is, till u dont understand it, it's worthless but wen u do understand it, it's priceless!!

i meant we cud start off slowly like this...making it a regular habit. And as ppl start realising there is more to psy than just stomping music. Then we can move on by doing a complete psychill event or an alternate chill stage. Small steps it is to bigger things.

I did see the video n pics of the psychill parties u guys had in the west...was bliss. Hope to experience it someday
