caco... dude it can be so so so much more than just a closer and opener for psytrance. we had a full fledged chill scene out west and it was just as wild as the main stage.

have you guys ever heard a serious night psychill set? it can get as psychedelic as darkpsy.... and many of those played are the likes of Para Halu, Olien, Encephalopaticys, Atriohm, Ocelot, Nimba...

Its called psychill but when the night takes over the sound its anything but. Want some now freaks?

well i cant say much about a party having Psy Chill and Full On Stomping goin on at the same time ...moondust ...phew ...it was such a messed up vibe if you were in between the two areas and could hear both ...if you have just monitors for the chill area then the other area sounds shall dominate ...is it not best to have a chill set played in the end after the party is over or in the breaks ...alternate the music according to time of the day or the night ...like its meant to be done ...just my 2 bits ....n caco bugger the chill mate if the party is over then "Take More Acid " hehehhe...Nirmal shall be so proud of me some day           Being, a bundle of minute, unique particulars in which, by some unspeakable and yet self-evident paradox, was to be seen the divine source of all existence.

well here we are again!! how to promote psychill in india ...the big question!!!

first step and the most important - Attend Gigs By DJ's Who Spin Psychill

I was spinning 3 hours of psychill before getting into tech and prog at a prominent bar/club last week for 3 days in a row Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I even sent sms flyers to all the psychill fans. But did they turn up even on a single day?

All 3 days were a blast in anycase

I dont want this to come across as a rant. But think about it for a moment. Over & Out

Chillout is a part of the psycedelic spectrum. Heck, the sounds are more psychedelic than compared to some of trance stuff being released in the past few years. Ideally , the best way i think to start is, host a night monthly or bi-weekly and create awareness. Its a slow start but then end result would be really good.
Start a guild of producers/djs across the country into the genre and invite em to play at the gigs. There is lots of talent untapped here. Also i recommend everybody to have a look at another chill out ambient group called Tatva Kundalini (www.chillomrecords.com) who have also gained quite reputation across the country and also recently played at the shanti Jatra fest in Nepal. They have also released a chill out compilation called Azaad-E and they are based in Delhi/Pushkar.

Hope things would start kickin in soon.

I definitely believe that psychill has a future in this city. It has grown a great deal since it first started here. Someone had to take the risk and slowly the people got into it. That set off a chain reaction and now there are young DJs who are playing it as well and having their own parties. It's being greatly picked up by the kids of today.

those who fancy some chillout fused with classical hop to "Lodi - The Garden Restaurant, Lodhi Road, Delhi"

"Witness the rebirth o f Taal & Surr as DadA Music & Cobra Club Nights present the most innovative expression of Indian Classical Music fused with electronic expressions of Nikhel Kumar Mahajan aka SATTYANANDA followed by a very special performance by DJ Blue ORB, Mumbai"

I be spinning minimal and techy grooves           New mixes on

It took over a year but we executed the 2 stage concept indoors in a hotel space and it worked!

No sound bleeds, a little bit of confusion (people didn't realise that a second stage existed) and enough diversity to keep all happy. (with the exception of our bollywood brigade ofcouse)

genres represented in 1 night:

minimal techno
progressive trance
night-psy
fast night-psy
twilight psy
full on
idm/glitch
live-electronic-rock
live-jazz-with vocals
psychill
psydub
dubstep
glitchhop
live ethno downtempo

so yes my dears, it can be done. we now need to work on YOUR support because as it goes, even with the so-called electronic music
heads pushing for this concept, their eventual priority was cheaper booze. kinda sad.

participation.. is what we need. Though I'm guilty for not being able to grab the few opportunities that came around in the last 2 years or so, i intend on not missing a single beat or space that comes out of the speakers.

Great going, lets have as many events nights days mornings festivals parties etc as possible, for the few chill lovers here. Please keep us posted           Nothing is said that has not been said before.

Like Yidam said: it can be done but this needs YOUR support. Otherwise people@those parties will keep asking for songs like Brian Adam's "Summer Of '69"

PS. Ganesha's chill stuff is the shit!           http://www.chillumafia.com
