What about progressive trance in portugal?
Line ups from most of the festivals and party´s
are only Psytrance and "dark" trance...
Do you think the portuguese trance scene should have more progressive or it is good like it is?
And what about Portuguese progressive trance producers, Are there any?

The progressive scene here in Portugal is really healthy and growing , although just in Lisbon area...parties all weekends with the top acts and dj´s and with much better vibes that you can get in the full on events. The crowd is also not so young and is very open minded - you can listen in this events stuff that goes from prog trance, prog house , electro, tech , breaks....

Just yesterday we had a killer party with Cass (ex flying Rhino, now on sabotage records)and it was very nice, more then 1500 persons in a beautifull club wit a view to the sea.
In the last two months we had names like D-nox, Beckers, Anti, Phony Orphants , Sebastian Kruger, Beat Bizzare, Cass and others.

Besides this...there are at the moment 4 progressive labels from our country working with this kind of music : Feed Me records, Flow vinyl, Open Up records and digital oracle.

Artists...We have Factor-D , Quantico, gordon shumway, stereo addiction and some more.

Sorry mate...not true...
The most progressive times are happening at this moment, not in 2001/2002...and for sure not from Hipnose crew - though were one of the first crew bringing some prog acts.

@diogo:
I have seen flyers and line ups from partys and I have to admit that things are going well around lisbon.
Still in an general way I think there is a long way to go for progressive trance in Portugal...
I really like d-nox, beckers, sebastian krueger but they go more in to the housy section of progessive trance...
I´m not sure, correct me if I´m wrong, but I think the portuguese crowd is still not very familiar with psy progressive trance coming coming from germany, switzerland and other country´s...(like magnetrix, symphonix, insane creation, sync, xibalba that kind of sound).
Or why aren´t there almost any dj´s and producers in Portugal that play and make this kind of music?

I still produce progressive, and i still release..

You have a point there.

Honestly, i think in Lisbon most people are kind of fed up with all night prog. house parties, at least i speak for myself.
One of the best parties for me this year in what concerns to sound was Jaia with Jeppe in club lua in August.

But party promoters want to keep loyal to a certain kind of audience and of course they want to defend themselves and their business, wich is ok, but imo they neglect a lot of good music out there just beacause its a little bit psy...

Some peole even say trance is past, but these statments make no sense if you see that most of the best CD's comming out this year are progressive trance (imo of course).

Besides, there are no regular progressive trance party promoters over here any more.

I can only recall Cristal Matrix (progressive alter-ego), and Nova-Deluxe.

In Porto you had PSP but i'm not sure if they are still in the business.

already released this year:

Tonic - Trancers Guide for the Galaxy - Millenium records.

Questions - Flow 5 year CD.

so i'm still out there..

err and Diogo - Faktor-D is a dead project for over a year now now its just D-tector

cheers

Well...it's your opinion....
But i racken that bring names as: S>Range,SBK,Mapusa Mapusa,Laureth, and many other's was a good thing on the progressive side of the Portuguese trance scene, don't you think....or where was you at that time?¿¿?¿?
To be honest, i wasn't a big fan of the Hipnose Production Team...cause i allways thought that they had lot's of failures on their way of making an event....normaly missing a lot of thing's like a nice Chill-Out, for example....
Now days...i cant say nothing, cause i'm out of Portugal since 2002....
Stay Well and remember....

Yes i was...and to tell u how good i know what i´m saying, I can tell u i was a resident dj for Hipnose since 1997 till they finished in 2003 - and to you can sound funny but i still work nowdays with them, though in much bigger productions that any electronic music party have in our country(only was out for some time when i was involved in Stereo Legs productions - and here you could find the first prog names - and later with Magma).

So...maybe you can´t really talk, since as you already told you are out of Portugal for some years now, but as always you like to talk like you were the "enlighted" guy who knows everything about everything.

Here in Porto some things are being done also. In this year we had Antix, Atmos, Ticon and Son Kite in Hard Club. But I certainly miss the PSP parties. Great ones we had, with Michael Schults, Austin Leeds, Tsuyoshi, Peter Didjital, Ryan Halifax and more.

Mr Jingabé

Yes, it´s really a shame PSP didn´t made any party lately - for sure one of the promoters i have more pleasure to work with in our country - professional people with the right attitude - let´s hope one of this days the boys will make a new raid!!!
