I'm also a portuguese producer making progressive trance, still unsigned with any labels but have a few tracks finished..anyone interested can contact me

As to the progressive scene I'm sure there's a lot to be done yet, specially when it gets to supporting portuguese artists. this support can come from labels to party promoters..
Its a shame that so many parties are made in portugal without one single portuguese progressive live-act. I'm sure its not because of the lack of portuguese artists but because party promoters prefer to bring always the same guys and not giving our artists an oportunity..I know D-tector's work and i'm sure he deserves better promotion in our country and to play live more regularly..perhaps if he was german or swedish he'd be considered a top-artist.. who knows..

How can you say that about portuguese labels? We would love to release portuguese artists...but in 3 years of exitance and releasing music from all over the world we never were contacted by one single portuguese producer. If the producers don´t try to show the work they do...how can the labels know they exist? And this is not only in progressive music...also in the psy trance label we were just contacted by one portuguese artist.
Did you ever showed your work to any promoter or label?

I an agree with all the posts in this thread and also with none ...

In the last months i went to all starlet parties in Lx that were mentioned... and, although i liked some stuff, musically speaking,i think that the clubby side of progressive is lacking with some major details as the shitty P.A. Systems available!!!

Im starting to believe that everybody in Portugal is fixed with bad audio quality music, since unfortunately nobody seems to buy audio cds or vinyl, im so frustrated with the fact that organizers tend to pass over this issue,

Thats one of the things i miss from the past progressive parties :Sound systems "thinked" for the space of the parties !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From the last parties i went i loved the Subsky dj set;Anthony Pappa´s set in Garage also has D-nox and Beckers dj sets and infusion live perfomance!!

In organizers m kudos goes to Da Providers ...

I think things are getting better;and we definitly have to talk and expose the pros and cons of the scene to get it better and rivalize with the best !!!

Best Regards to all

Nuno

I also think that the promoters that organize party´s and festivals here in Portugal could make a bigger effort in supporting artists and dj´s that make and play progressive trance( portuguese and foreigners). That is also the reason for opening this thread. I think everyone sensible and over a certain age is feedup with 12 hours of banging full on trance! Its the time to start organizing party´s with a "story" line up with beginning and end and include more then one style of music in one party! IMO!
In a certain way I think it is also good that we are in the beginng of this movement here in Portugal so we can build up things from 000 and make it the right way!!! (very optimistic )

You are spot on, the parties need a story, you start with progress, then full on, dark full on, morning full on and you finish with prog again.....
With all my traveling and diferent parties around the globe i have to say its very rare a party that uses this formulae of parties, its like you said fuckinn 12 hours of full on...... And im a full on guy..... but i love to dance to a beat and if you give gms(or any full on artist) at 10pm by 4am im completly wrecked...
Oh.... im portugeezer

Hoffman, in the lisboa bar, people used to call you hoffman no>>?? i think i know you aswell..ehehehehe but not saying who am i....

I agree completlly with you Etnarma...
I can't stand 12 hour's of Full-On too....for me personaly...i have the same opinion, that a party have to have a variated sort of diferent psy-music stiles, or otherwise...it's booring.....aparentlly there are lot's of ppl that enjoy it the other way arround...

Well....depend's on the Drug amount that they have taken...but for me..a good musical trip...it's allways better than a chemical one.....

Well...I think the mentality of the portuguese promoters is changing and have changed a lot in this year of 2005.

This year i was booked for several "psy trance" events and the promoters asked me to make a progressive set - this comes from promoters like Quest4Goa , Plur Productions and Crystal Matrix , some of the biggest ones, so i think the future looks bright - finally we are having partys with all range (or almost) of trance music , something that was lacking in our partys and for sure will make the events more interesting then haveng the same music all night and day.

so hoffman!!!!!! do they called you hoffman down @ lisboa bar???
Diogo its good to know that these promoters are doing that, but have you noticed that these promoters are from the 'old' school, dont know about plur but the rest are old promoters!!!!
The new promoters just want a banginn party all day/night long!!!
my opinion of course
Diogo does Ferro still plays?

Well...they are "old school" promoters but just this year they started to have somo prog at their events (and i just can say i loved all of them).

About Miguel...yes...he plays everyday, but with his dog lol.
Nah...he is living in the countryside and just plays sometimes for fun...you can catch him playing this new year party, promoted by hipnose near zambujeira - though i don´t think is still possible to get any tickets.
